Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

[ Edited ]

I was not sure what to expect when I got the book and read the description, but found that the book was an enjoyable, fast read.  I liked Lucy's spunk and that she wanted to use her abilities to make a bigger difference than finding lost keys in the couch.  I was drawn to the mystery moreso than the romance.  I knew the romance would find it's way by the end.  I look forward to reading more in this series!

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

I loved this Book!

It came along at the perfect time for me. I was sick w/the flu when my bf brought up the mail, and handed me the pkg which was Truly,Madly. I spent the rest of the day reading a wonderfully fun story about Lucy Valentine and her quirky ESP. The mystery got me caught up in trying to figre out what was reall going on too. Though I did feel that the romance did take a back seat to the mystery much of the time, it was still very sweet how the relationship with Sean progressed, and I can see the next book in the series really moving things fwd there. I will definetly be looking for the next book in this series:smileyhappy:

ps-also posted my review for the B&N site, and rated book 4 stars overall

Hi,

I haven't read this type of book for awhile. I used to read the Grafton ABC series. I forgot how enjoyable it is to read a lighter novel. Truthfully, I loved this little book. It was a magical read, both interesting and fun. I liked the intriguing implications of her gift. Furthermore, the book held my interest and left me feeling good when I turned the last page. What more could you want from a book?

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

When I read the description for this Sneak Peak selection I wasn't sure that I would like it (I don't usually read romance novels)...boy, was I wrong! It was a delightful read with just enough mystery to keep me intrigued and that touch of magical realism that I adore. I really liked that the romance was on the "cool side" as someone else put it because I feel that I could easily share this with my teenage daughter. I loved the characters and I am looking forward to continuing the "relationship" with the sequel, which I will definitely buy!

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

I was more taken by the hint of mystery because I don't usually read the romance books any longer.  I certainly didn't mind the romance - it was nice.  Romance in this book was fine and enjoyable.  Some books say romance, but turn out to be "soft porn" and boring to read.  This book was great on both counts - good romantic plot with a wonderful mystery too.

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

I truly enjoyed this new novel by Heather Webber!  It was a perfect fit for me, just enough romance to not clutter things up too much and a bit of a mystery with an ever popular paranormal side thrown in.  I can't wait to find out what happens next in Deeply, Desperately

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

I would have to say I really enjoyed this book and look forward to many more stories about Lucy & both Marisol & Em.  My only gripe was that the fact that she had a secret was explicitly stated TOO many times.  That really bothered me, because it was almost saying I couldn't understand the implied angst that she had in situations.   Other than that, I'm passing it around :smileyhappy:

I posted my review, but lost the link to the B&N page.  I really enjoyed this cozy mystery, so much so that I bought the first two in the gardening series Heather wrote.

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

I loved it!  I can honestly say that the second I finished the last page the first thought at the edge of my brain was, "When will I get a chance to read the next one?!"  I will definitely continue along with the series as it comes out.

I prefer the hint of mystery in the book to the romance, although it makes for a good story to have a little lingering thought of "what if they get together" <wink, wink> but it's the mystery that keeps me interested... Even if it is predictable.  Sometimes however, the predictable mystery is the best because it keeps you wanting to know if you're on the right track.

I've also been looking to see if Heather Webber has written other books.  If so does anyone know any titles?

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

I really enjoyed Truly, Madly.  It was a great escape from the rush of the holidays.  I like the hint of mystery.  When you add a bit of paranormal and just the right amount of romance it makes for a very nice get-away.  I'm looking forward to Deeply, Desperately. Lucy and Shawn are just starting to get to know each other so it will be fun to see what develops.  I was glad when Lucy was able to use her ability to find lost people.  It sets things up for some interesting stories to come.

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

I loved this book as I've said in other posts. This is really a good author and I will definitely be reading more. I was taken by the fact that this book was both mystery and romance. I also wrote a reply to the authors post that I thought she was as good a Nora Roberts. I am really happy I decided to participate in this book club!

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

Terrific read! Had the perfect mix of romance/mystery. Not too big on romance novels due to most of them just being too graphic for my likings, but this had more mystery to it than romance. Can't wait to see how Lucy and Shawn's relationship blossoms in Deeply, Desperately!

Also, I see Heather Webber has other books out, anyone have any suggestions as to what one I should begin next?

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

I really enjoyed this book.  I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did, because it was labeled as "romantic".  It could be also labeled as "mystery".  It was fun, exciting and a real page turner whatever it's label.

Heather Webber writes such fully formed characters that you start to care about them right away.  She has an original way of describing their features too.  Settings come alive in the reader's mind.  You don't have to read half the book to get interested in the story - it starts very quickly.  The plot is, I felt, original and "fun".  Lucy "sees" a dead body and then leads an unsuspecting detective, Sean,  to it's location with her special gift of finding lost objects when she holds a person's hand.  Lucy takes over her family's matchmaking business and gets Sean to help her find a lost love of her first client, Michael.   Sean and Lucy form the romantic interest in the book.  When Lucy finds the lost little boy, her secret is out in the publics eye big time.  I thought at the end when the police ask her to start helping them find lost or missing persons, that there would be sequels and there will be.  Anyone who enjoys light romantic (with a good mystery thrown in) books will really love this book.  I highly RECOMMEND it!

Re: Sneak Peak! TRULY, MADLY: Post Your Review!

What a great, fast read. I finished the book well before the discussion started but got caught up in the busy pre-Christmas bustle.I thoroughly enjoyed reading Truly Madly and found myself staying up late nights just to see what would happen next. Great touches of mystery seasoned with a touch of romance. I liked the pace of the story as well as the unfolding of the mystery.
