The Best of 2011

Alright, folks, it's that time of year: what were the best romances, or non-romance books, that you read? I'm applying no limits: as long as you read it this year and love it, then post it here!

I"ll post my best-of books later in the month, when Maria, Marisa and I post columns on our favorite 2011 romances over at Heart-to-Heart.

Let the posting begin!

Oh, darn it, every time I think I'm done buying books for awhile, someone goes and tells me about another good one. (Usually Melanie or someone on this board!)

I've read a lot of fabulous books this year. Kristan Higgins new book is definitely on my list of faves for this year:

Oh Wow the best of the best of 2011

I'm just now starting to work on my list too, it'll be up at Gen Fiction and on my blog

Melanie I can't wait to see how many we share, of course mine aren't just romances but I have a feeling that there will be some overlap in our lists.

Can't wait to see yours :smileyhappy:

Re: The Best of 2011

It shouldn't surprise anyone that my favorite read this year was Kristan Higgins'

My One and Only

I was writing about the story for Heart-to-Heart and got choked up! What a book! Thinking of that scene at the end between Harper and her stepmother brings me to tears. I just loved it...

Melanie, I know what you mean. It's not often that you can still recall scenes from a book you've read a while ago, I reviewed this title in March of 2011 and I still laugh and cry and cringe at some of the things that happened. Thanks for your article in the Romance Blog it was great.

Happy Holidays to you and all my friends here at Romance

Hi Melanie - Fortunately ('cause it won't cost me anything at the moment) or unfortunately this has been languishing in my TBR pile - it just moved up !!!

Becke, do you have the new one? I have a copy here and it's at the top of my pile, though there are so many good books to read this week!

No, but I have it on pre-order. Have you read anything of hers? I love the way she builds a deeply romantic plot, twisting things so you can't imagine how it's ever going to turn out right in the end. But, be assured, it does - and in believable ways. Her books always land on my keeper shelves.
