Twelve years later, the woman known as Abigail Lowery lives on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she designs sophisticated security systems—and supplements her own security with a fierce dog and an assortment of firearms. She keeps to herself, saying little, revealing nothing. But Abigail’s reserve only intrigues police chief Brooks Gleason. Her logical mind, her secretive nature, and her unromantic viewpoints leave him fascinated but frustrated. He suspects that Abigail needs protection from something—and that her elaborate defenses hide a story that must be revealed.
With a quirky, unforgettable heroine and a pulse-pounding plotline, Nora Roberts presents a riveting new read that cements her place as today’s most reliably entertaining thriller author - and will leave people hungering for more.

All Nora books are event books, but The Witness is truly special: it's her two-hundrendth novel! Can you imagine?
I'm excited that so many of you are going to get to read this one; it stands out to me as one of her best. I know that Debbie and Becke concur when I say that it's hard to put down, and the heroine will linger in your imagination, too.
So it's out tomorrow!
Here's the story description:Daughter of a controlling mother, Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever.

She is my favorite author, and her yearly suspense novels are always great. I'm looking forward to this one.

Cheyenne - Nora Roberts is my favorite author, too! I am so excited to read this book. I'd say congratulations are in order to NR. 200 books - that's just amazing!

I've read all 200 of Nora's books, and I count this one as one of her very best. Definitely in her Top Ten, probably in my Top Five.
