Kevin has a new announcement up regarding member profiles and My B&N Profile.  You might want to take a look, here.  Some of you may wish to take some action to protect your profile information from getting lost before 11/11/08.

Next week we will be finalizing some of the changes to user accounts as a part of our transition to the new My B&N profiles.

If you have one of the new, oval-shaped avatars, you don't need to do anything - please disregard this notice.

If however, you have one of the old style avatars - an avatar that is square in shape, such as those with pictures of books, animals, or letter blocks, please send me a private message. 

Among those users with old avatars, some of these accounts have a problematic setting and there is a chance that you could get permanently shut out of your account early next week.  When you PM me I will take a look at your account and provide you with the appropriate instructions so that this does not happen.

Again - this only applies to those users who have the old, square-shaped avatar.  If you have such an avatar please send me a PM as soon as possibile and I will make sure that your account is safe.

Remember that the Book Clubs profile page changes are scheduled for overnight on the 11th.

Please take this opportunity to move your biography, your favorite books and your favorite authors to your My B&N profile page. These fields will disappear overnight on the 11th, and we will not be able to get them back.

Jon has posted an announcement asking us all to participate in "Best of 2008" listings of books, music, and DVDs.  He says our Essentials Lists on My B&N can be coordinated with others to showcase not only our favorite titles published this year but titles we read or enjoyed this year that may have come out originally in other years.  See his announcement, here.
