This is probably the sonnet-est play in the Shakespeare canon.  Notice that the second act starts with the chorus reciting a sonnet?

 

In Act 2, sc. 2, line 149--there's a marriage proposal.  Notice that it's Juliet who takes the lead?

 

And, I believe that the theme of the play is in Act 2, sc. 6, where Friar Lawrence says:

 

These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume: the sweetest honey
Is loathsome in his own deliciousness
And in the taste confounds the appetite:
Therefore love moderately; long love doth so;
Too swift arrives as tardy as too slow.
