A wonderful festival in southern Oregon.
The performance year runs from February to October with three venues. Four Shakespeare plays: Hamlet, Henry IV, Part 1, Twelth Night and this month's read, The Merchant of Venice. Also, seven other plays including Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Excellent! Love getting these posted on the board for those interested who might be in the area.
Thank you, harleyhoney!
Keep them coming, people!
Nancy has posted during our HAMLET discussion about this same festival, so I'm reposting her note again here:
Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon is doing Hamlet during the 2010 season. Running dates are February 19 -October 30. I can't get details, but the photo looks like a WWII setting.
[Very tempting, but an eight hour drive. Thinking, thinking. But by February 25th, there will be three other plays opening that I can see as well. And we're doing Hamlet here thru March. Thinking, thinking.]
Metropolitan Opera will be performing Hamlet in March.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival that many of you write about frequently here in the club has opened its season. I write about it here. Also, check out their website for a picture of how they're staging HAMLET. What time period does that look like to you? I know someone mentioned WWII.
If they have set Hamlet in WWII, what would that do to the play, do you think? Or...wait...I'll put that question in another thread!
If anyone does get to go to this production, I hope you'll share your experience with us!
