I, Woz: Phreaking

In Chapter 6, we see Wozniak introduced to "phreaking" when he read an article in Esquire called "Secrets of the Little Blue Box." This article claimed to be fiction but Wozniak was convinced that it was real based on the detail it contained and he investigated further. How did this extend his knowledge and understanding of computers? Before reading this book, did you know what "phreaking" was? If so, have you had any experience with it?
