I'd be hard pressed to choose between the following:
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Unwind by Neal Shusterman
Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith
Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston
What is the best teen book you have read this year (so far)?

Ooo. THat is so hard.
-Looking for Alaska
-The Hunger Games
-Eon: Dragoneye Reborn
And my mind draws a blank. I'm sure there's alot more, that I have just failed to think of. And yes Unwind was epic. I love that book.

Man, I have nothing against the Mortal Instruments Trilogy, but I just hate the author.
Anybody else adore Magnus? He is like my favorite all time character. ^_^

City of Glass was the best book that came out this year.
or maybe Moonlight by Rachel Hawthorne
or Carpe Corpus by Rachel Caine

The Hunger Games! It's the BEST book of this year! No it's the best book ever!

For me it's a tie between City of Glass by Cassandra Clare and Envy by Anna Godbersen.

There are millions of reasons to hate Cassy Clare.
1. One of my best friends commented on one of her fanfics when she was eight years old and she got cussed out MAJORALLY with several f bombs. Again, I say she was eight.
2. Does nobody else see the connection between Star Wars? I mean technically Clary and Jace weren't brother and sister, but come on? Secret brothers and sisters with a whole shocking "the evil dude is my father". It just screams Star Wars.
3. Have any of you guys read her fanfic? *shiver of horror* I've read only clips that she has basically cut and pasted scenes from her HP fanfic into City of Bones, just changing the characters. It was horrifically saddening.
4. Who names their villain VALENTINE?! That's almost as bad as Capricorn! I mean come on. That just screams lameness. (OK that probably wasn't a valid reason, but hey)
5. Jace is a totall ass and I can't see why any girl would like a guy who treated them like a piece of ass. He's a total deusche. (sp?)
6. Clary is basically a younger prettier version of Cassy. I mean does no one else see that?
7. I just tend to hate Clary and Jace character wise. The only characters I find worthwhile are the secondary ones, like Magnus, Maia, Alec, Isabella, Simon, and Luke.
Ok, I got slightly ranty. But that pretty much sums up why I hate Cassy Clare. I mean I still adore the books, because hey their a good story, minus the sappy pathetic love story. And I'm still super psyched for her new prequel trilogy. It sounds super amazing. I dont' deny she's a good writer, I just don't like her.

i thought you said you liked the book. that didn't say i don't like the author, all i got out of that is the author is mean and can't write. You said you didn't like the author and then tore the series apart. personally, I don't get the Star Wars connection, the stories are similar yes, but i doubt she thought about Star Wars while writing about angels and demons and vampires, etc. and yah Jace is mean at first, but did you finish reading.. doesn't seem like it if that's all you saw from him. i also don't get how you got Clary is Cassandra but younger and prettier, is her mom in a coma? is her dad evil? did she fall in love with her could-be brother? did she discover a new world with angels and demons and vampire and werewolves? ......... no. feel free to explain this one, because I honestly see no connection except similar names.
You gave more reasons why you thought the book wasn't good instead of why you didn't like the author. You should have stopped at 2.
the topic here is best teen book, not worst.

I do like the series. I just hate Clary and Jace as well as the author. (wierd I know but I still look forward to reading them) It's a complicated thing. I just hate Cassy Clare personally, not what she writes.
Ugh. Ok, so even though they didn't turn out to be brother and sister, when Clary and Jace still thought they were they were still in love with each other. I mean ew. I would actually adore the series WITHOUT Jace and Clary. I hate Jace more than Clary. If Jace wasn't there I wouldn't have an issue with Clary. I like her character over all but when it comes to Jace and her I just want to hit something.
Star WARS. I swear I have run into so many people on this cite who have never seen them. What is wrong with you people?! (not a serious question, I'm just saying who hasn't seen Star Wars? It's unheard of)
I'm not saying that her story line wasn't original, with the whole angels and demons thing. (great book by the way. Lol. ) I've never read vampire diaries. I'm very hesitant to even pick up another vampire series becuase from what I hear their all sluts who just happen to be vampires. (I haven't read them, that's just what I've gathered from what other people say)
I think the cussing thing on a small comment on a fanfic is a major flaw of character. I mean who does that? Honestly. If you can't take criticism (which Cassy Clare obviously can't) then why even post it for people to read? Plus this was on a fanfic. FANFIC! I mean it was just some HP crap where Harry and Draco got all sappy.
No I appreciate it. Now if I was pointing out the flaws of Twilight then I think someone would kill me. Lol.
Don't get me wrong here, I really dont have anything against the series, I still love it. The way Jace treats Clary just bothers the crap out of me. If a guy did that to me I'd be "screw it" and walk away. I just don't understand why she takes it.
Lol. Ok, so some of my reasons weren't that valid. Once you get me going I tend to ramble and get off topic. Lol.

Ok so in Star Wars Luke and Leia(sp?) made out (before they found out they were brother and sister) Luke was dead set on killing Darth Vader before he found out that Darth was indeed his father. Clary and Jace also made out with each other before they found out they were brother and sister. Jace was also bent on tracking down Valentine until he found out he was dear old dad. How does that NOT sound like Star Wars?
Yes I did read all of the books. Jace was an ass till the end. Talk about emo. Geeze. "I'm a monster, blah blah blah blah blah. Let me crush your feelings so I can feel better about myself" (Sorry I just REALLY REALLY REALLY hate Jace)
I meant physical descriptions on the Clary is a younger version of Cassy. Have you seen a picture of Cassy? Then image what Clary looks like in your head. You'll get it then.
Haha...... ya..... sorry. I ramble alot.
