Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

City of Bones

Can anyone tell me if "City of Bones" and the rest of the series is worth actually reading?  I have read several chapters and don't know if it's really worth it or not.  Don't know if it's just starting off slow.  Thanks!

Re: City of Bones

I love City of Bones! Definitely worth it if you're into lots of action, some teen angst, and a little bit of romance.

I really enjoyed all three of them.  She also has and excerpt from the first book of her next series coming out next year.

Re: City of Bones

I didn't find it slow at all, but you know your own taste. I have read all 3 books of the Mortal Instruments series, am looking to the 4th book, and am also excited about the prequal to the series called The Infernal Devices:   http://www.theinfernaldevices.com/

Re: City of Bones

It's definitely worth it.  You should finish the books.  I must admit, the first chapter isn't the best, but it's really good : )

Re: City of Bones

What's "city of fallen angels?" Is that a continuation of the series? Or were you referring to something else?

Re: City of Bones

Yep! But, how could you not like the beginning? I was hooked from the start. It wasn't the best writing/story I've ever read, but It's number 3 on my list, and I've read a lot! So, yes, you'll be pleased and loooooove Jace (if you're a gal)
