Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Do you judge a book by its cover??????

For me the cover only represents how much money was inverted into the book lol I have some really but really amazing and good books which if you saw the cover you would say this book looks kinda cheap and when you actually read it you just go llike damn why is this book not a bestseller lol? So no, I usually read the backpart and part of the first chapter and thats when I decide to buy it.

Re: Do you judge a book by its cover??????

Whenever I buy a book, I judge it by its cover. Whenever there's a cool cover I think it makes the story look more interesting. Ugly cover...I'm not buying it. Haha

Re: Do you judge a book by its cover??????

haha its starting to not make sense no more! haha

or maybe it does, but people just dont listen to it

plenty of people will walk by a book because the cover isnt to eye-catching, or plain

Re: Do you judge a book by its cover??????

yeah....

well i guess it goes both ways; you really shouldn't judge a book by its cover....but i guess its not a big deal

you just might miss out on an awesome book because the cover isnt rockin'

(i do that a lot, then i find out the book was great)

Re: Do you judge a book by its cover??????

I do sometimes. Mostly though, by the back cover or the inside flap. If the cover artwork is nice, I am more likely to be interested though.:smileywink:

Re: Do you judge a book by its cover??????

When I see a cover of a book that looks interesting than I read the back to see what the book is about than if it seems intersting than I buy it. That simple.

Re: Do you judge a book by its cover??????

Yes.  When looking for new books to read I look at their covers, and if I like the cover I then read the back of the book to see if its something I would like. I also will smell the book, I know that sounds weird, but I find if the book smells good then the book is usually good.
