Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Favorite Angel book?

Hi!  I have not yet read Fallen, but did very much enjoy Unearthly.  For something similar I would recommend Embrace, a new book by Jessica Shirvington.  I also always always always recommend The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.  If you haven't read them, the series begins with City Of Bones and at first will seem more general sci-fi than angel specific, but the whole revolves around Nephilim - part angel/part humans!  It's devine (punn intended).

Theres also a book called Clipped by Samantha Potts.  It falls into the adult sci-fi section rather than teen, but reads very easily and has a feel similar to Embrace and Unearthly.  Speaking of Unearthly, the second in the series is available now, too!  It's titled Hallowed.

Happy reading!  : )

Thanks for the rec!

I have to say that I didn't love Fallen, in the same way that I didn't love Twilight. But I really liked the Cynthia Hand. Did everyone here love Fallen?

Re: Favorite Angel book?

Forbidden  is a book written by a writer that we long have admired at Romantic Reads, Syrie James, and her son, Ryan M. I, as I said above, have been plowing through the angel stories lately, and this one is really, really good.

Here's the story description:

She should not exist.

He should not love her.

Claire Brennan has been attending Emerson Academy for two years now (the longest she and her mom have remained anywhere) and she’s desperate to stay put for the rest of high school. So there’s no way she’s going to tell her mom about the psychic visions she’s been having or the creepy warnings that she’s in danger.

Alec MacKenzie is fed up with his duties to watch and, when necessary, eliminate the descendants of his angelic forefathers. He chose Emerson as the ideal hiding place where he could be normal for once. He hadn’t factored Claire into his plans. . . .

Their love is forbidden, going against everything Alec has been taught to believe. But when the reason behind Claire’s unusual powers is revealed and the threat to her life becomes clear, how far will Alec go to protect her?
