Korts I was writting while you posted. Nevermind on half my reply. That looks great can't wait to discuss all the books with everyone.

Claire de Lune release May 18 so that should give everyone enough time to get the book and EN releases on June 5 so that is enough time also.

FYI if we are going to do Mocking Jay after the release date August 24 I would recommend ahead of time to anyone that has not read the first two of the "The Hunger Games" will need to before then or they will not understand the series.

Is there anyone in the club that has not read the first 2 Hunger Games books yet?

me :-( but I have both of them

Re: Online Book Club [The

The list looks great!!  I am really excited to start reading and discussing.  I have started reading The Body Finder.  I am still early into the book so it is hard to say how it will be but my hopes are high.

I am all for reading the Mocking Jay on Sept. 14.  I agree with K-Wags that those who have not read (or listened to) for the first two in The Hunger Games series really need to.  These books are great and they will not leave you disappointed.  I take that back…you will be disappointed that you have to wait for the third one to come out.  I still have not understood how Twilight has gained so much hype of this series.  Seriously read them!!:smileyvery-happy:

I have not read Pretty Little Liars yet but I know several of you have and K-Wags you are reading the 3rd series now.  Anywho, did you guys know that ABC Family has a new series coming based off the books?  It looks pretty good.  I am torn on whether to read the series before watching the tv series.

Just thought you guys would like to know.

Re: Online Book Club [The

I really enjoyed the hunger games, it took a little bit to get a feel for the characters. I am really big on the authors getting into the details of the characters, like Stephenie Meyer she makes you love them. Even in the book the Host. By the end of the first book The Hunger Games I could not wait to read the next one, and now I am looking forward to the third in Aug.

I am now on PLL #4 and this series is really good, Heather_Lynn I did now that they were making a show on it. But as we all know the books are always better in every case. Although I am looking forward to the show, I assume that S Sheperd will be rappin this series up soon since they will be showing it on TV. I have to admit I did not like the second book of the series, very boring. But the third was good.

I think The Hunger Games got hype bc Steph M recommended it highly. Just like City of Bones, City of Ashes and City of Glass, she recommended them too, I got the series for my bday but have not read them yet. Again too many books not enough time.

The other series I am into and can not wait for May 18 is Vampire Academy #5 Spirit Bound.

I need to get done with PLL so I can start on Beastly, I hate to stop in the middle of a series but I need at least a week to read Beastly and our May 14th discussion date will be here before I know it.

Re: Online Book Club [The

Can't wait to start Beastly, trying to get through all my PLL series before moving on. I will have it read before the discussion date though. I am moving on to book #5 tomorrow. I've been trying to get one per week or less. I have just added PLL  #8 to my wish list for pre-order on B&N. Looking forward to that.

Hey Korts I was reading another blog you were in, that someone had recommended True Blood series, that is just vampire porn if you ask me. Way to graphic adult for my taste and I enjoy young adult books because I am a young adult, I don't need an author discribing how someone in a book series is getting it on over and over. Just my two cents! Also thought it was funny he said he wanted to "talk to adults more his age" and he is like the same age as you.

Let me know if anyone wants to talk more about the PLL series on here, unless we were going to read them, otherwise I would like to discuss the series more, after I finish #7. Does anyone want to chat PLL series in a couple weeks?

Night, Happy Reading Clubbers!!!!!  Kelly

Re: Online Book Club [The

I got Beastly last week and just bought Hex Hall today!!  Too excited.  I am currently reading The Body Finder and in between trying to start Beastly and Hex Hall.

I have not read the True Blood series but I have a friend who did and she watches the the series on HBO.  According to her they are pretty hot.  A little too hot for younger readers.  Since we are in a young adult/teen book club then it may not be a great idea.  We do not to leave anyone out who may not be allowed to read them!!  I understand about wanting to talk with someone your own age.  I am 26 and know that I am probably the oldest in this group.  However, I knew this was a young adult/teen discussion and had an pretty good idea that I would not find many older young adult up here!!  Anywho...I am sure you get what I am saying.

I wish I could discuss PLL with you K-Wags but I haven't read that series yet.  I am pretty sure it will not happen before the series starts.  Sorry :smileysad:

I am going to wait to watch the trailer for Beastly.  I do not want anything to give the book away.

Oh,  have you guys heard that their is going to be a HarpersTeen Supernatural Summer Tour?  There will be several authors there.  I know Kimberly Derting and Kim Armstrong and several others will be appearing.  I think it may be just during June in select places.  There is one not too far from me that I will be attending.  Just thought you guys might like to know!!

Re: Online Book Club [The

yeah i honestly do not like reading about people doing it.  okay i am 21 i know how things work and i don't need to read other people doing it.  yeah i am a young adult and i know that most people on here are younger then me. i am just fine with that i don't like "adult" books!  i heard to that they are major sex in it.  i watch the show and yes they are hot.  eric is my favorite!!!  way hot and tall and i have seen all of them in real life!

yeah i would say wait to watch the trailer because it will make you think different when you read the book!!

Re: Online Book Club [The

Heather_Lynn you are not the oldest in the Young Adult section. I am 30 and feel like I should still be 21-23. I enjoy reading what I read and feel I can relate to all the characters. I think I can give my input without sounding like I am old....lol!  "Like you know what I mean"  JK

Have a great day!!! :smileyhappy:

Re: Online Book Club [The

Korts  I posted the link to the Supernatural Tour below:

http://supernaturalsummer.com/index.htm

I think it actually starts in May.  So, depending where you are located will depend on when it comes.  I am not too far from Texas so I am going to try to go to the one in Houston or Dallas.  Kelley Armstrong is going to be in Houston and not Dallas....so I will need to decide if I want to drive the extra hour or not.

K-Wags...I must say it is nice to know how old you are.  Do you have children?  I have two small ones and I only ask because it will reassure me I am not a loser mom reading about teen romance!!  LOL!!!  I agree I feel I relate more with the young adult crowd.  Though age doesn't matter online it is still nice to know I am not the only one ranking as a young adult anymore!!  If it makes you feel better I have a friend who is 32 and she LOVES Twilight and jokes about Jacob being jailbate.  She is married with a 4 year old!!!

Watching shows like True Blood versus reading them are two totally different things.  Books go into way more detail (sometimes)!!!

More later!!!

BTW....you guys can just call me Heather :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Online Book Club [The

I just finished reading Beastly the other day after it finally came in the mail. I loved it! I can't wait for the movie. I already know it doesn't follow the book exactly, it's obvious with how they have the beast look. Still I think it will be good. It comes out in July!
