Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. On May 1, we’re saying goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

I thought about being a little helpful and put the schedule up for everyone. =)

Here is the Online Book Club Reading Schedule:

Oct. 14th: The Hollow by Jessica Verday

Oct. 30th: Torment by Lauren Kate

Nov. 14th: The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

Nov. 30th: Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Dec. 14th: Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick

DEc. 30th: Need by Carrie Jones

I might beable to join your book club on Nov. 30.  Maybe.  Has any one read Beatiful Creatures?  I'm reading it now.  My friend owns the book and we take turns taking it home so it'll take me longer to read this book. :smileyhappy:

Re: Online book club

BC- Just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm reading Shiver and HON #5. I just started Shiver yesterday and I'm already in page 155. It's pretty good, but I don't really care for the short chapters. Then I started HON #5 today and I'm already on page 194! It's pretty dang good. I feel like this one is more action-filled than any of the others so far. But I could be wrong bc its been awhile since I read the first 4. Happy reading to you all! :smileyvery-happy:

Hey guys! It's been a few days since I was on here. Wow I have a lot to catch up on lol. Congrats Nikki! I hope everything is well with Hayden.

So I just finished the fourth vampire academy and I'm still loving the series but I'm gonna take a break so I don't get tired of them and I'm wondering whether I should read Beautiful Creatures or City of Bones next. What do you guys think?

Re: Online book club

Hi all the new people I'm Lexa. I have to say that I have read City of Bones and it didn't impress me that much. I have the rest of the series but I haven't gotten around to reading them yet. I also haven't read Beautiful Creatures, I know I'm behind the times.

BC- It's been a day filled with homework for me and I have even more to get done tonight so reading is put on a hold for probably the rest of today and tomorrow. But I am reading

Here, There Be Dragons (Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica Series #1)

Re: Online book club

Katie- I would have to say this first book is a lot of background information. also if you do not like fantasy then this story isn't for you. There is stuff about mythical lands that no one knows about except the guardians of the book that hold the maps as well as the people who live in that mythical world. That includes elves, trolls, some kings and queens, talking animals, goblins. It is interesting so far (I'm about 100 pages in) and if you do like those little bit complex fantasy novels that include adventure then I would check it out.

Re: Online book club

BC- Well it seems we have all fallen off the face of the Earth this week. I hope everyone is doing well and getting some reading done. I just wanted to let you all know that I redid the List on the Ultimate Recommendation List thread. If you would like to check it out that would be great. I would love some feedback on how I laid it out.

Re: Online book club

Lexa - Great job on the Ultimate Recommendation List...I love that it's now organized by genre/subject!!!

HON Readers - Finished #5 this morning...I'm really starting to love this series!  By the way (Kelly), I came across the "word" pissed-off-ness while I was reading and immediately thought of our "word" badassness and I started laughing!  It also got me wondering what Damien would think of our "word", since he's Mister Vocab in the story lol.  Anyway, I just preordered HON 6 in paperback, so I'll have to wait until next week sometime before I can start it...but that's okay...I have tons of other books to keep me occupied!

BC - I hope everyone had a good week...all of us must have been really busy...hardly any posts!  Getting ready to go start Torment...I'm super excited to get back into this story!  After Torment, I think I'm gonna skip The Lost Hero.  I really need to read a book for a book report I have to do for one of my classes...I'm thinking The Book Thief...it really ties in with what we've been talking about in class and I heard it was really good.  So, anyway, off to start Torment!  Yea!

Re: Online book club

BC- Hey! So this week has been crazy! I went to a Halloween party on Wednesday, because school was canceled Thursday for parent and teacher meeting. The party was really crazy and fun (I wont lie to you, but yeah there was alcohol. But I didn't drink anything! I promise!) lol I went as a witch! I know so different lol I went to Borders today because I was at my grandmother's house today and borders is closer to her house then b&n. I got NightShade =D and Misguided Angel =D(which shouldn't be out until Tuesday Oct. 26, 2010), a hardcover copy of Crescendo, and a hardcover copy of Beautiful Darkness. I am going to give my ARC's of Beautiful Darkness and Crescendo to my friend for a Christmas gift, and I know that's like 2 months away, but she can't afford books, so I thought it would be a good idea. For Halloween I'm giving her Bad girls don't die by Katie Alender and she's giving me Fledgling Handbook. (We can't keep secrets about our gifts lol) I also finished Lost Hero on Thursday and loved it! I started Scorch Trails and so far it's really good =) Well I think I'm going to read so more. Bye!
