Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Sarah Dessen?!?!?!?!

I think that you should start with either Just Listen or This Lullaby.

These are my absolute favorites of her writings.

Or if you want something a bit shorter to start, you might want to try This Summer or Dreamland. Though, I don't quite remember just how short that one was.

Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with any of her books.

They're all just as good. (:

I also recommend reading The Truth About Forever first, that was my favorite. They are all great though.

Re: Sarah Dessen?!?!?!?!

I believe everyone has their own favorite Sarah Dessen book because each book has a completely different girl in which one group of girls can relate to. All of her books are AMAZING though because Sarah knows the REAL world of teenagers which most authors don't fully grasp. I love her! My personal favorite is the Truth About Forever with This Lullaby coming in second. But I definitely recommend reading them all. :smileyhappy:

Re: Sarah Dessen?!?!?!?!

Yeah, The Truth About Forever, hands down.  It's her best, the characters are developed best in that book--IMO--and the story line is just, better.  :smileyhappy:

Re: Sarah Dessen?!?!?!?!

Well I love all of her and recomend them all books but I would them in chronoligical order because some of her books hint at what was said in a previous book, she doesnt make it to where you have to read them in order but I think that would make more sense, it did to me anyway. Hope this was helpful (even though summer is over)

Re: Sarah Dessen?!?!?!?!

whichever ones jumps out at you- they can be read in any order but once you start reading them you realize how Sarah Dessen connects her stories together.
