I read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks yesterday, and I was wondering what everyone thought of it. I liked the story, but I didn't like the ending. I thought it was so unsatisfying! It made me happy that Allie remembered Noah, but I didn't think it was worthy of the end, because she had already remembered him a few times before. I turned the page thinking it would keep going and it didn't! Ugh! I was so upset.
I also felt kind of disconnected from the story, like I really was just reading it. I know that sounds weird, but usually when I read I forget I'm turning pages and such, and just get very wrapped up it it. I didn't get that feeling with this.
Maybe I was just expecting too much, but I was a little disappointed.

Nicholas Sparks The Notebook...I liked the book, but I understand what you mean. I actually saw the movie much before reading the book, so I think that ruined it for me, because the execution of telling the story is so different in either one (and I prefer the way the movie tells it) Have you seen the movie? If so, did you like it better than the book?
You should read The Wedding by N.Sparks, though. I enjoyed that one more, although it had its blah parts, of course. It's called the sequel to The Notebook because it is about the son-in-law and daughter of Noah and Allie (and Noah's in it quite a bit, too).
thank you! No, I've never seen the movie, but i heard it was good. (and quite a tear jerker hahaha) I'll try to get it soon! I will try reading the Wedding...is it kind of the same story as the Notebook, or is it it's own story? I will let you know if I read it. And I'm glad to know you agree with my thoughts on the ending
