Re: The Ultimate Book Recommendation List

This is such a great list. (:

So, i'm looking for a book and I don't know where to start ! If anyone has anything to tell me about I'd really appreciate it, I'm totally desperate.  I'm in post-book depression, ya know ?

Well, anyway, i think that the mythical boyfriend thing is getting kinda old, but anything else you have I'd love to hear about ! (especially sci-fi, i'm a sucker for it, dude ;D )

Re: The Ultimate Book Recommendation List

Fariequeen- I will eventually read the Secret Cirlce books so thanks for the recommendation.

Edaer-Itof- I don't read a lot of sci-fi but some ones that come to mind that could be somewhat associated with that category are Incarceron and  Hunger Games Trilogy Boxed Set. Both of these are set in the future and are great reads.

If you like something more fantasy with knights and great battles for kingdoms I would say dive into to Tortall series by Tamora Pierce. Here is the order

Alanna  In the Hand of the Goddess (Song of the Lionness Series #2)  The Woman Who Rides Like a Man (Song of the Lioness Series #3)  Lioness Rampant (Song of the Lioness Series #4)  Wild Magic (The Immortals Series #1)  Wolf-Speaker (The Immortals Series #2)  Emperor Mage (The Immortals Series #3)  Realms of the Gods (The Immortals Series #4)  First Test (Protector of the Small Series #1)  Page (Protector of the Small Series #2)  Squire (Protector of the Small Series #3)  Lady Knight (Protector of the Small Series #4)  Trickster's Choice (Daughters of the Lioness Series #1)  Trickster's Queen (Daughters of the Lioness Series #2)

Some nonparanormal reads that I would have to recommend (since you don't like the mysterious vampire/werewolf/ supernatural being romance thing) are

Forget You  Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys  The Truth about Forever  This Lullaby  Along for the Ride  Someone Like You  Dreamland  Lock and Key  Keeping the Moon  Just Listen

I hope you find something in there that you like.

Re: The Ultimate Book Recommendation List

This is such a great List!! there are so many of my favorite books on here, but one i'd add is:

East by Edith Pattou

It's a beautifully re-written fairytale

Thanks!!

The Enemy  I doubt I saw this on the list. Adult zombies take over England, while kids group up to survive. Great first book in a new trilogy

Re: The Ultimate Book Recommendation List

And I would hate myself if I forgot to mention...the Bloodline series by Kate Cary. Amazing, fantastic twist on the Dracula story. Any person I've recommended it to has loved it. I just wish the author would write a third book, but I read on her page somewhere she won't do it because her books didn't sell well here in America. Anyways, one of the greatest series I've ever read. These are definitely in my top 10 favorite books.

Bloodline

Reckoning

Re: The Ultimate Book Recommendation List

The Midnighters Trilogy and Uglies series (both by Scott Westerfeld) are really awesome books. their very intense and creative, with original ideas. I also like Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy by Ally Carter. It's kind of cute and silly, and very girly. The ultimate teenage girl series has to be the Confessions of Georgia Nicholson by Louise Rennison. It is a hilarious series about a British teenage girl and her exploits relating to love, school, and friendship. It is a must read for teen girls who love comedy and realistic stories.

The main list is on the bottom of page 5 and continues on to the top of page 6. most of those books are on the list but I don't think the Secrets of my Hollywood Life were on there. Also since Forget You is newer it's not on there yet. although I recently read it and really liked it.

Re: The Ultimate Book Recommendation List

Okay so I've been scanning through this and its an insult you don't have Lurlene McDaniel! Okay I don't mean it so seriously but here are some books by her that caught my attention and I am a very picky reader. Note that I'm in the process of reading some of them.

A Rose for Melinda

I'll Be Seeing You

Don't Die, My Love

As Long as We Both Shall Live

How Do I Love Thee

My Secret Boyfriend

Letting Go of Lisa

Saving Jessica

The Angels Trilogy

And for any girl that has had an imaginary friend prepare for the heart warming story by James Patterson. Tears guaranteed.

Sundays at Tiffany's

I've been wanting to read some Ted Dekker stories so if they interest me they might interest you as well

Green

Black (Circle Series #1)

Red

White (Circle Series #3)

House

Three (Thr3e)

Also how can I forget Juliet by Anne Fortier

Juliet

EXTRA: For just any good of the shelf book I recommend the thirty nine clues

The Maze of Bones (39 Clues Series #1)

One False Note (The 39 Clues Series #2)

The Sword Thief (The 39 Clues Series #3)

Beyond the Grave (The 39 Clues Series #4)

The Black Circle (The 39 Clues Series #5)

In Too Deep (The 39 Clues Series #6)

The Viper's Nest (The 39 Clues Series #7)

The Emperor's Code (The 39 Clues Series #8)

Storm Warning (The 39 Clues Series #9)

Into the Gauntlet (The 39 Clues Series #10)

Re: The Ultimate Book Recommendation List

[ Edited ]

I'm also a fan of Jodi Picoult's book.

I noticed that no one had listed Jodi Piccoult's books. I must say that her books are some of the best I have ever read.

First I recommend My Sister's Keeper. If you saw the movie, then ending sucked. The book was so much better than the movie.

Then there is Handle with Care, also an excellent book.

So here are her books:

My Sister's Keeper

Handle Withe Care

Nineteen Minutes

The Pact

Harvesting the Heart

Keeping Faith

The Tenth Circle

those are all I can think of right now, and I read all of them besides the last one.

They were excellent, you should definitely try them
