Since 1997, you’ve been coming to to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: need a good read!!!

The Luxe by Anna Godbersen is incredible - the perfect book to get lost in.  Also, it's a four book series so if you're a fast reader you can get the boxed set!

Princess Of The Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George is great if you like romance and fairytales - it's a good light read for vacation days.

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand if you liked Twilight or Fallen.

The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey if you like monster or horror stories.

Jeckyll Loves Hyde - another light read but more contemporary and funny.

Like Mermaids? What better for the beach, and only 99 cents...

Between The Land And The Sea

Something extraordinary is lurking in the deep ocean waters off the coast of Aptos, California. In just a few weeks after moving to the small beach town, sixteen year old Marina has nearly drowned twice, enchanted the hottest guy in high school, and discovered a supernatural creature. If she can only manage to survive her increasingly dangerous encounters with unpredictable mermaids, she might just be able to unlock the mystery of her past to learn how to appease the mysterious forces that seem to want something from her...and maybe even find true love along the way.
Between The Land And The Sea is the first book in the series "Marina's Tales". Her story continues on in book two, The Moon And The Tide.

What genres do you like? Paranormal? Other?

I just recently finished reading The Demon Trappers Daughter, which I'd highly recommend for paranormal fans.

Otherwise, Libba Bray's Beauty Queens and Karen McQuestion's Favorite.

The Book of Lost Souls Being a teen witch has never been more fun. Or trouble.
Don’t Fear the Reaper Because I could not stop for Death, he kindly stopped for me...~Emily Dickinson 17-yr-old Keely Morrison finds that death isn't any easier than life.

I may be too late for vacation but it is never too late for a good read. If you like vampires you will love Royal Blood Chronicles with five books so far all great. And Elizabeth Loraines new series Phantom Lives if you want a good fantasy, ghost, immortals, magic read. Here is a link.

Re: need a good read!!!

What genre do you like? I've recently read some really great books...

The Foxfire Chronicles

These are both the start of series, and I loved both of them, and flew through the pages. Abandon is a little more paranormal, and Shadows of Past Memories is a bit more science-fiction/fantasy, but they are both "romantic" and great books. Shadows of Past Memories is actually by a self-published author, which I thought was pretty cool.

Right now I'm reading this:

This Dark Endeavor

It's more of a...literary fiction? It's about Frankenstein when he was a teen, and it's really interesting.
