Re: similar books to twilight

Vampire Kisses is alright but when I read it i thought it was a watered-down mock-up of the Twilight series. Just my opinion.

Re: similar books to twilight

I've really enjoyed all of the books I've read by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. Another really good book is City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. But a warning the ending makes you want to scream at the book. Also The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (Know idea on the spelling) is really great on the more historical content of the real Dracula; its not just a historical novel though its fiction and really fantastic. Also go watch BUFFY, its like my bible. Trust me you watch one episode and you'll want to watch every episode.

Oh I thought it looked good...question, though. How do the books go in that series, like what is the first one, what is the second one, what is the third, etc.

I didn't see where anyone answered this so....

They go in order like this:

Twilight
New Moon
Eclipse
Breaking Dawn (August 2008 release)
Midnight Sun (Release-Still not announced)

Re: similar books to twilight

a certain slant of light by laura whitcomb is kinda like twilight....

there is the romance...

there is the fantasy (instead of vampires, it's ghosts)...

and although the plot is SO much different and it's shorter, it's still a good book.

I have to totally agree with you on this!

"A Certain Slant of Light" is one of the best books I have ever read! Also, you might want to try "Blood and Chocolate" by Annette Curtis Klause and the Vampire Diaries books. "Tithe" is also a really good book!

Re: similar books to twilight

So I've recently gone on a reading rampage, literally I think the clerks at Barnes and Noble are going to know my name by the end of the month, I have been in there at least twice a week for the last three weeks.

But the result is the start of a list of books I would recommend if you like the Twilight series:

Marked - By P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
Betrayed - By P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

(These are both part of The House of Night Series - Next book is due out in March 2008)

My Brief Description: Imagine Harry Potter mixed with the OC and the relationship drama of Twilight - along with the it's own unique spin of course on vampires or vampyres as the book spells it.

Blue Bloods - By Melissa De La Cruz
Masquerade - By Melissa De La Cruz

(These are both part of The Blue Bloods Series - Next book is due out in the fall of 2008)

My Brief Description: Imagine Gossip Girl mixed with a little bit of history - myths, oh and of course those socialite elites are vampires.

A Great and Terrible Beauty - By Libba Bray
Rebel Angels - By Libba Bray
The Sweet Far Thing - By Libba Bray

(These are the three books that make up this series, some call it The Great and Terrible Beauty Series or The Gemma Doyle Series.)

My Brief Description: These books take you back to a time when ladies were expected to act & dress in a certain manor. It brings in bits of History along with Myths and Legends of the past. This is the only series that I've read so far that doesn't have anything to do with vampires. *I wouldn't recommend these books if your not into history, or don't have a somewhat good knowledge of myths and legends.*

Re: Any suggestions

Blue Bloods is a vampire book. and a great one at that. i would suggest it to anyone who likes twilight. also the silver kiss is a good book. and boys that bite.

Poison Study was a great book too, but it doesnt deal with vampire. though it is about magic, love, and mystery, kinda. i loved it.

Re: similar books to twilight

Another series similar to twighlight is the house of night series. It's really good. It's about a girl in a world where everyone knows about vampires. She gets marked and has to go to the house of night school or she'll die. Her dad is very religous and doesn't want her to go but she runs to her grandma's house and she takes her there. At any point any of the vampires, fledglings, could drop dead. It's a really good series, there are two books I think. The third is either out or you can preorder it on amazon.

Re: What Vampire books ROCK?

Well I’ve read twilight of course but its kind of obvious. The only other vampire book that I’ve read is Vampire kisses series and I hated it. I’m not really into the Goth thing. I’ve heard really good things about Blue Bloods.
