Yet another bad review

I just noticed that Entertainment Weekly (not exactly the New York Times) has listed this book as one of the top five worst books of 2007. Comments?

Re: Yet another bad review

Becke, I've never resumed THE ALMOST MOON. The book just didn't grip me. Neither the plot nor the characters sparked my interest. It was just much too strange.

I'm thinking of donating my copy of the book to my local library.

Re: Yet another bad review

I stalled on the horrendous mental image of the sex scene in the car. I haven't been able to get past that. And I loved The Lovely Bones, which is very graphic, so I'm not sure why this particular scene has me hung up.

I don't think it's one of the worst books but I think it could have been better.

I read and knit and dance. Compulsively feel yarn. Consume books. Darn tights. Drink too much caffiene. All that good stuff.

Re: Yet another bad review

I loved The Lovely Bones and I thought Lucky was really gripping. I did finish this one, but it was a struggle because it was soooooo depressing.

I gave my copy to my niece, who also loved The Lovely Bones and was anxious to read this one. She said she read the first couple of chapters then set it aside, hasn't been able to get back into it.
