Newly available for NOOK, Julia Alvarez's How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents is a brilliant and bouyant story of a prominent Dominican family trying to straddle two worlds in 1960s New York City.

I love my nook and I love all that B&N offers - new books, ideas, various things - EXCEPT one thing.  They falsely advertise that they have over 22,000 pages with 90 free books on each page.  If you ever tried going past pg 16, you find the next 100 pages are all exactly the same book offerings.  I got tired and quit after that.  So there are actually only 1400 free books that you can download.  If there are more free books, they should make the website possible to skip the first several hundred or thousands of pages to get to the pages that are not all the same.  Shame on Nook.  You should keep readers happy with real time free books instead of hundreds & hundreds of repeats.

How about the 10% of indie publisher uploads that are porn? I'm not being pprudish, this really is Hustler-level smut: full frontal nudity on the covers threesomes, bondage. All yours for the low, low price of  99¢ .

Hello, B&N: Wake up and mind the store. Shop should be a safe place to shop. Put the adult titles where they bellong.

And a stylus that doesn't stutter would be nice. Can you spell "unprofessional"? Sure you can.
