I would have thought that the 8g should have been first at the $199 price point with the same processor and the 16g coming as an upgrade at the $249 price point
The cheaper price would have made me happy and I might have thought of purchasing the tablet it at the time I got the touch
So far the touch and the color Nook is working quite well for me

Regretfully, I feel like the Nookcolor was a rip-off scam . My understanding when I purchased it l purchased it after Christmas (returning the Nook and anteing up the extra bucks) was that B&N would issue upgrades that would in effect bring it up to what the new tablet is. For the price I paid for the Nookcolor and the disappointing "upgrade" I feel like we were cheated. I would have kept the regular Nook had I known what the REAL deal would be.!
The only think I can satisfactorily do with the Nookcolor is download and read books which I could have done for $150 less using the regular Nook or a similar device. For that purpose, I love it! Anything else, forget it. For a while, our library system only had e-pub or adobe downloads for eBooks and that definitely gave the Nook a huge advantage (for me) over the Kindle, however, that advantage has disappeared because Kindle downloads are now available.

I think its worth the extra $50 for the 1 gb of RAM and extra 8 gb of memory. The funny thing is that the 8gb version has only 1 gb of memory reserved for B&N content and 5 for your content and the 16 gb version only has 1 gb for your content and 11 gb for B&N content. I guess they felt the backlash on that.
