I am so excited to announce that the first episode of a brand new Smithsonian original is being released through the Smithsonian Channel NOOK App. “Forensic Firsts” is a docu-series on true crimes, and explains how most could not have been solved without pioneering forensics techniques. Each episode offers dramatic reconstructions of famous crime scenes and the forensic innovation which led to the criminal’s capture, such as trajectory ballistics or DNA profiling.
What I love most about the Smithsonian app for NOOK is how well polished it is. The video quality is absolutely stellar; the experience of watching original series, documentaries, and video clips is like watching hi-def video without any commercials. This is what all cable channel apps should be like.
Not only is the functionality and quality of the app truly great, it really is the abundance of content that keeps me coming back. For a big history and culture buff like me, this series is right up my alley.
A high quality app with amazing content, AND free to boot? This definitely deserves a place on your NOOK!
