Working for Barnes & Noble, I suppose it's not a big surprise that I am whacko for word games. As both a complement to reading and an enjoyable diversion in their own right, word games are just one more way I stay immersed in both mobile apps and the world of reading. Text Twist 2 by GameHouse is the quintessential word game – simple to learn, easy to jump into and almost impossible to master.
Given a set of letters, you have to find all the possible word combinations. This is not as easy as it sounds, and that is where the meat of the game comes from. I will only find all of the words about 80% of the time, and when I miss some I feel silly afterward. For example, I just played a game and it took me almost until the end to fill in the last 4-letter word. Which is only funny because that word was “cups” – and one of my 3-letter words was “cup”. Text Twist 2 demands an attention to detail and meticulousness that helps me focus in every aspect of my day-to-day life.
GameHouse has several apps available for the NOOK Color™, and I would urge everyone who enjoys games to give them a look. From the subtle intensity of the ticking clock in Text Twist 2 to the silly fun of Doodle Jump Deluxe and even the offbeat fun of Sally’s Salon Luxury Edition, they all hit the spot for a quick and involved gaming experience.
