It was a pleasure to have Pulitzer Prize-winning author and journalist, Anna Quindlen sit down with us last week in the B&N Studio to discuss her bestselling novel, Every Last One. She told us that ultimately the book is about the “cracks in the bedrock” of most families and what happens “when one of those cracks opens into a chasm.”
To their neighbors and friends, the Lathams are a seemingly perfect family, but when faced with a surprising and horrific act of violence, the survivors must build a bridge between illusion and reality if they hope to face any prospect of a future.
Later in our interview with Anna, she said that “life is random and various and sometimes perilous.” Every Last One is a perfect example of just how true that statement is.
