Only a writer with Krauss’ talent could pull off the amazing feat of connecting four seemingly disparate stories to a desk. But the desk -- which has ties to poet, a novelist, an antique dealer, and a grieving husband -- is but a vessel containing the profound philosophical message of Krauss’ narrative.
Since first reading her astonishing History of Love (sadly not yet available as a NOOKbook), I’ve been a fervent, Kool-Aid drinking, fan of Krauss and I can’t recommend her work more highly.
NOOK owners: go to shop, and search “Great House” to download a great, great read.
