This first book in Gray’s Heart of a Hero series explores the complex and endearing love that grows between Clayton—a ranch foreman—and the woman he’s sworn to protect from her stepfather’s advances. Clayton isn’t the type of man who can stand idly by and watch the innocent Vanessa become her notorious stepfather’s next victim. So he sweeps her away on a westward journey—pursued by a dangerous man, and growing closer to Vanessa with each mile that passes underfoot.

You’ll be moved and entranced by the tender love that these two souls grow to share.

Free Fridays Recommends

Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Shelley recommends:

NOOK owners: go to shop and search for “Shelley Gray” to download her stellar romances.

As others have posted

This is Free Fridays, not everyone is the same in their likes and dislikes when it comes to reading material. I know for myself I prefer books that I feel are well written so I'm not locked into a genre

Although  I do try there are are times when Friday's just slip by and I see that I have missed my oppertuinty to get a book free that I might have been interested in, usually one that is on my wish list. But often times if I am lucky the book is still free or it will come back up as a free book (I find that authors with series like to hook readers by doing this, so it's more a marketing thing)

I really appreciate the efforts that Spec, Butterfly and others have done to find all of these gems thought out the three years that I have owned all of my Nooks.  Heaven only knows that I don't have time to look.

Barnes and Noble does not have anything to do with Free Friday's other than providing the space on their servers for the Blog

The blogs are solely space for us readers to come together as. Community

While all the books are not ones I would typically pick, I have been pleasantly surprised, and truly appreciate the time and effort spent setting this up each week.

Bummer!  I missed my opportunity this week!  Oh well, there is always another Friday around the corner.  Thanks to B&N, Jeremy, Spec, Butterfly, JFro and all the community.  I always love finding nook books that don't cost me a penny.  Four and a half days to go....

Thanks for taking the time to post the books.  All I do in my free time is read, these days, and even when I don't have free time, I want to read.  How great is that?

I love the Free Friday Nook books.  Some had a few flaws (grammar and spelling) but, no matter, they're FREE!!  Found a few interesting stories too. I take a look every Friday to see if there's something I'd like to download.  Thanks B&N!!!
