Perhaps your last book club meeting featured a few minutes of serious, literary discussion, followed by two hours of eating, drinking, and chewing the fat. I know that’s how most of my book club meetings play out.

I just loved Amanda Grange’s novel, Mr. Darcy, Vampyre. From the second I saw that it was dedicated to Catherine Morland—the clueless but loveable heroine of Austen’s Northanger Abbey—I knew it was going to be great. I felt as caught up in the book as Catherine was by her own favorite gothic novels. There’s romance, mystery, exotic travel—and of course, elegant (but dangerous!) vampires. Grange adds some intriguing elements to traditional vampire legends but never loses sight of the kind of classy, romantic story that Austen fans love. A real pleasure—fun, well written, and very engaging!

I always look forward to Friday's. Thanks to all for posting the free book links. I have the Nook ap on my Ipad and never used it as I hated the thought of buying the books. Friday's have really changed that in me!
