"Boomerang Bride is one of the best romance novels this reviewer has read in a long time. Top Pick."
-RT Book Reviews

When Matlida leaves her Australian home to wed Barry—the man who swept her off her feet online—she doesn’t expect to be jilted by an internet con man. Now that Barry’s out of the picture, she’s stuck in a small Wisconsin town without a friend in sight.

Along stumbles Marc, who’s begrudgingly in town for his annual family visit. He sees a bride in desperate need of a groom, but he’s not quite sure he’s the man for the job. Matilda isn’t convinced of Marc’s suitability either. But strange things happen when two strangers are stuck together in a small town with lots of time to kill.

Fiona Lowe’s next irresistible contemporary romance, Saved by the Bride, is available for pre-order now!

Free Fridays Recommends

Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Fiona recommends:

My love affair with romance fiction had begun and Jane Austen, with her clever wit and insight into the human condition remains a firm favorite and a comfort read when required.

I have to chime in with many of my fellow readers.  Sometimes I do not select a Free Friday offering for weeks at a time but I always check and enjoy looking at the offerings.  Please do not give the book a low rating because you do not like the choices that are offered.  If you stick around a while you will find something that does fit you.

Thanks to all of you who have helped build my collection far beyond what I could have afforded.  You have introduced me to authors I might never have tried,  For most of them I have bought what was available and anxiously awat new ones but I still stalk FF.  You have introduced me to so many new friends!

Please understand that rating DO affect how people select books.  When you trash this book for something out of the control of the author, you potentially are affecting future sales of other books too.  Some people look at ratings and never look at the reviews.

To all who search out and post free books, thank you. Whether or not I find something I am interested in, I very much appreciate your time. Let's all recognize the wide variety of interests that Nook readers have, and celebrate that instead of complaining.

For Paagan and others looking for a specific genre, here's an easy way to search. At the top of the page, there's a search box with a symbol of a magnifying glass. Type in your search term, such as mythology, then make sure that Nook books is checked in the pull-down menu to the right of the search box, and click the green box that says Search, just to the right of the pull-down menu.

Now you have a huge number of books, 6034 if you search mythology. Next you can find the free books by sorting the search and choosing Price: Low to High. You can also search by Title A-Z, Newest to Oldest, Best Selling, etc. You can also choose to show either 30 or 90 per page, and a grid layout or list layout.

There appear to be hundreds of free mythology books, so Pagaan you will probably want to be more specific in your search, such as Greek mythology, Roman mythology, or even try classic Greek mythology. But I think you can get the idea.

I hope this will be benefit everyone here today. Much gratitude to those who help to build this community.

This Sunday is my birthday! I am blessed with having been alive for another year.  It's great to have B&N giving me a Free Friday gift every week... it's like birthdays without aging all year long!  LOL

Once again, I have found some treasures. I, too am not a romance fan but a little change from my usual genre usually makes me more enlightened, not less. So I will give it a try.  Thanks Jeremy!

Spec, thank you so much for the techy titles!  And of course, all the other books you list for us.

Butterfly13 and Ereaderperks.. thanks for your suggestions as well.

As for the haters out there in regards to well ...everything.. be it the Free Friday selection, or a book you are reviewing, please keep in mind that everyone doesn't like the same thing.. what is great for you, may be boring for others so if you are reviewing a book ..remember it is the book, not the genre (unless you are complaining about Free Fridays selection which you don't have the right to complain about because it's FREE!!) that you are supposed to be reviewing. How about making a suggestion about what you would like to have for a Free Friday selection instead of complaining about the one that is chosen?

I truly love reading helpful reviews that list the things you really want to know about a book... Did it hold your interest?  Were the characters well formed?  Were there too many grammatical errors ? Did it begin to drag halfway through or started off slow ?

Also, please remember, that it is a review not asking you for a summary of what happened in the book.  Many a book that I would have enjoyed reading has been spoiled by someone writing a summary or book report in the review.

Thank you B&N, Jeremy, and all who suggest books here and all the other participants that keep this blog interesting.  That goes for people who just come and post a line or two about what is going on in their world.

This blog rocks! :-)

juliejpr That is exactly how I do it! Your step by step is perfect.  I search womens fiction and then romance, and when those are slim or full of repeats I search thrillers and list the womens authors.  As to why I stick to womens authors not a big fan of viloence nor "rape" as a form of romnace and women authors, from my reading experience, tends to shy away from that.  I like when Jeff puts thrillers up there and I have even downloaded a few si-fi from him. I do not download everything I post, because I like to share what I find not just what I read.  On pintrest I only pin what I download.  To all of the negative people who dont like this or that (and I have had a few meanines about what I post) I encourage you to search and share or just search.  It only takes as much time as you want to spend on it.  To those who do not like smashwords, there are some good authors out there who use this as a way to out there and there are times they are picked up by major publishing houses.

Lets follow the golden rule treat others as you would like to be treated.  Do you want a review on the book you spent so much time and effort on then be judged becauce it is not someones prefered topic instaed of the content of the book.

Play nice everyone and be happy :smileyhappy:

Another great Friday.  Love the Microsoft books.  Have a great weekend.  Thanks for all you do to contribute to the blog.

While it's not cool to complain about free books, it would be cool to see some free books that would be of interest to guys.

And thanks, spec, for your balanced freebie research.

Butterfly I appreciate you not posting books with "rape" as the main part of a story b/c for many of us who have been through that it is not something you want brought up a lot. However if there are books that have that then I can just not download the book if it is brought up in the reviews or somewhere else but I do know that you just cannot post books with that in it b/c I said I don't like reading those types of books.

Knockout, I agree totally w/what you said.  We are not reading the reviews to find out all about the book.  Some people write reviews that totally ruin the book b/c they tell what the entire book is about so what's the point of reading the book?  I really wish people would stop writing these types of reviews.

YvonneJ, I just want to make sure I understand the review your bookclub wants. You want just a general review but not like a book report where the review is a spoiler and tells just about everything about the book? You want to know whether people liked the book or not; but not just b/c it wasn't their type of book, is that correct?

I have been doing Free Fridays for several years now and it didn't seem like we used to have all the people whining b/c the books posted aren't their type of books.  These are "free" books and I don't understand why they believe they can complain and complain b/c they don't like the books or they're not their kind of books.  If they don't like them then do as someone suggested and go buy books or find "free" books on their own time.  This isn't something B&N has to do and can stop it at any point.  It really makes me mad that people take their own time to post "free" books for us yet people are always complaining. If I find a book that isn't my type of book then I just don't download it but I don't complain it.  In the real world we don't always get what we want when we want it, so the same is true here.

Thanks to everyone who takes their time to find these "free" books for us and it is greatly appreciated! (At least by most of us!)

I really appreciate the free book links every weeks.  Those of you who take time to post these TOTALLY  ROCK!!!!

Thank you.

This is my first time posting on the free Friday blog.  Thanks to everyone who searches and posts books for us to download for "free".  My library is largely comprised of books that I have downloaded for free.  I enjoy going to the blog every Friday to see what I can find!  Thanks again to all you take their time to do this service for all of us!!!

by aBlondeMoment on ‎02-08-2013 04:28 PM

Oops... That should have said week rather than weeks.  Sorry for the typo.

by Tonya210 on ‎02-08-2013 04:34 PM

I am extremely grateful to B&N and all the folks that take time to find and share the free books.  I could not have afforded all these wonderful readings without this service.  Its been said before, but I think worth repeating, not all types of books fall into this category and therefore your likes may not be here.  Do not ruin it for the rest of us.  Thank you.

by EclecticHobbies on ‎02-08-2013 04:36 PM

I don't always like the Free Friday books so I don't always get them. But they are FREE!!!

I want to thank spec today for the listing for Richard Mabry's book #4. I already have the other 3 (which I was also able to get free along the way) and was waiting for it to go down from $10. before I bought it. Thanks to spec, and B&N, I was able to get it free today.

PS....I also wish those complainers would post here -- if they have to post anywhere -- and not in the book review. B&N can you just delete those posts from the reviews?
