Jefferson Bass is actually the pseudonym for the writing team of Jon Jefferson and Dr. Bill Bass. Dr. Bass is one of the forefathers of forensic  anthropology, and founder of the University of Tennessee's famous Anthropology Research Facility, a.k.a. The Body Farm, so you can be sure that Flesh and Bone offers plenty of scientifically-accurate chills.

In this second book in the Body Farm series, Dr. Bill Brockton—a renowned forensic anthropologist—is assisting in the case of a cross-dresser who was brutally murdered and left in a local park. Brockton is disturbed by the crime and is doing everything he can to uncover the killer, but when someone close to him is murdered—and he’s fingered as the main suspect—he’ll need to find the person that he suspects is responsible for both murders. If he doesn’t act fast, his career, reputation, and life will be ruined.

Once you’ve finished Flesh and Bone, eight more bone-chilling Body Farm mysteries await.

Crazy Hamster—true to his name—is a wild-eyed rodent who sometimes thinks with his stomach instead of his brain. Winter is setting if fast, and our furry little hero forgot to store up for the fallow months ahead.

Now he’s on a whirlwind quest to collect much-needed sustenance, but there are plenty of traps and roadblocks along the way. It’s your job to keep him safe, by building bridges, extinguishing fires, and using ladders to lead him safely to the edible goodies, and back home safe. Crazy Hamster  is an irresistible adventure that the whole family will love.

Once the hungry hamster has finally had his fill, Gamelion Studios has many more fun apps waiting for you, too!

You get the drift.  And you can put in multiple search terms, like "teen paranormal romance", "historical romance", etc. etc.  And you can search for a particular author.  For example, James Patterson pulls up 62 results:  http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/0-00-james-patterson?store=nookstore&keyword=0.00+james+patterson

Just be advised, this may pull up unrelated items with that word in other search fields.

Also, The above numbers were for searches run today.  Books get added all the time, and some free stuff seems to cycle in and out (for X-many days or hours).

In any case, there is never any reason for a person to leave empty-handed on Free Fridays (or any day) -- you just might need to do a little searching on your own.  (Hey, it's fun!)

The Jefferson Bass forensic fiction books are a great read.  I purchased this book several years ago, along with the rest in the series... and absolutely gobbled them up.  If you're a fan of CSI, Forsenic Files, True Crime, and the science side of Law and Order... you will absolutely love this, and the rest of the books by this talented writing duo.  Good choice, Jeremy and B&N!!!

My continued gratitude to all the other people (Spec, Butterfly, and so many more) who post various Nook Free Books on this thread.  I am always thrilled to meet so many new authors... and am humbled by the time and energy it takes for all of you to scout out and post these gifts.  One of my first thoughts around 8 a.m. on Friday is... "Gee, I wonder what's new on Free Friday Thread!!!"  Thank you all so very much for being an integral part of my "things to look forward to..." list for the weekend!

Have a wonderful summer, everyone!  Read happy!

I have read the whole Body Farm series and highly recommend it, if you like mysteries.

The Free Friday selection for this week is great. I have read the Body Farm series.  If you like  Kathy Reich or the Scarpetta series you will enjoy this.

Enjoy a good read this weekend.

Thanks to Barnes & Noble and to all the others who do this on Friday; it helps on a rainy day in North Carolina!  Every Friday is better because of you.

I also love the Body Farm series!  This series will appeal to both men and women.  Thanks B & N for Free Fridays and also to all the others who post.  I've found many new authors through these postings.

Happy Reading!
