When Chastity first arrives back in town, she’s determined to shed her image (forged thanks to her four older brothers) as ‘just one of the guys.’ It’s time for her to find love, and the first step is to get the eligible local bachelors to see her as more than just the fifth O’Neill ‘brother.’

She quickly finds common ground with a handsome doctor, but when an old flame, Trevor, re-enters the picture, she can’t keep the long-buried feelings from resurfacing. Will Trevor finally fall for the ‘new’ Chastity or is she better off starting fresh with the dashing M.D.?

For more fun modern romance from Higgins, pre-order her upcoming jilted-bride story, The Best Man, now.

Free Fridays Recommends

Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Kristan recommends:

One of the best books I read this past year was a YA for older teens—My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. There were so many things I loved about the book—a completely relatable heroine in Samantha Reed, who's just on the cusp of starting to realize her own potential; a hero who's exactly the boy we all dreamed of as teenagers; and the thrill of first love between two realistic, lovely characters.

Samantha, who's starting her senior year of high school, feels a bit invisible as her mother embarks on a campaign to be reelected to the state senate...and starts dating her campaign manager. But Samantha's not a typical, angst-riddled teenager; she's mature, self-respecting and intelligent, as well as adorably dorky. I loved how the story unfolded and grew, taking on themes like acceptance, loyalty and responsibility in addition to the power of young love. A wonderful, uplifting and beautifully written book.

Raven, none of your books are pulling up for me.  Not sure how to get to them.

Jeremy and B&N thank you for giving me free one of my all time favorite author's novels. There is no one who writes better romance than Kristan Higgins. Her books constantly make my best of lists and last year her novel My One And Only took the top spot.

I am posting this in hopes that someone from Barnes & Noble reads it.  When checking the reviews for the free Friday selection I noticed that many of the comments were not "reviews" but complaints about the offering for today.  It is not fair to the authors of the books to give a low rating just because one does not like the genre that has been offered.  This is the place for the complaints.  I don't know how it can be done but it would be great if the review postings would be monitored, especially on Fridays.

And while I am on my soap box, if you don't like the offerings, don't spoil it for everyone else.  There have been several weeks that the offering was not my "cup of tea".  If I don't like it, I just want for something that will interest me.  Barnes & Noble and Jeremy do not have to do this.  Just appreciate it when you do get something for free.  Also thanks to all those who search for all the other freebies.
