Lady Maggie is the dignified, illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Moreland—and he’s eager to get her married off. Soon though, Lady Maggie’s personal letters go missing, and her reputation is in danger until they're safely returned. Enter the handsome and talented investigator Benjamin Hazlit.

Though Maggie would love to pursue the dashing Hazlit, she worries that the risks to her—and consequently to him—may not be worth the reward. Can their mutual passion overcome her fears?

You’ll find more romance and intrigue in the other books in Burrowe’s Duke’s Daughters series.

And in case you missed it: Dan Brown's blockbuster thriller, The Da Vinci Code featuring the prologue & first chapter of the upcoming Robert Langdon adventure, Inferno, is free for a limited time.

Today’s Free Fridays App selection is one of our favorite - and messiest - NOOK Apps: Fruit Ninja - Puss in Boots.

This action-filled game combines one of our most popular app franchises with the irresistible hero of the hit animated movie, Puss in Boots. Who better to slice & dice his way through a series of fruit-mutilating challenges than the swashbuckling bandito Puss?

Fans of the classic Fruit Ninja will recognize the gameplay, updated with new challenges and Puss in Boots graphics. It's fun for all ages, and better yet, it's FREE for a limited time. Once you've mastered Fruit Ninja - Puss in Boots, the classic version of Fruit Ninja awaits your impeccable blade-work.

Free Fridays Recommends

Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Grace recommends:

Cora and Guy's tale is not your typical Regency drawing room drama, but rather, a story of high stakes, adventure, and the price paid by those who lived, fought and loved passionately in a world of clashing armies and ideals in flux. Tracey Devlyn's debut is a terrific read, and the start of a wonderful series.

@GracieMae, this one sounds wonderful but unfortunately, it is no longer free.  :smileysad:

@im2boysmom - it is still free.  I think you were looking at the paperback version (which is not free). The nook version is below the paperback listing and it is still free.  Thanks to everybody for your hard work looking for great free reads for all of us!  I look forward to Free Friday every week!  Have a great weekend everybody!

I love Free Fridays, and honestly, I can hardly keep up between the free books, and the ones I buy.

But for those whose budgets are constrained (and really, whose isn't?) I have a Free book finding tip:

I subscribe to all the free book emails that come out. Yes, I realize they often feature books from "the competition." However, much of the time those books are often free on Barnes & Noble as well! Yes, sometimes you'll see them listed under the Free Fridays posting by our lovely contributors like spec and butterfly (and others), but sometimes you won't, because the publisher only makes them available for that one day.

I have gotten a number of books this way that didn't appear on Free Fridays.

Hope this is useful for people.

I like Grace Burrowes's books, and was glad to see this one on Free Fridays. But when I tried to download I got this error message:

We're sorry, we weren't able to process your request.

Please try again. [2001]

What does this mean?

Thank you ALL!!  Once again you have made my Friday!  It's been sometime since I went through my "historical romance" phase but I've found that is the hidden perk to having a Nook (and Free Friday's)...You find yourself discovering and/or rediscovering genre's.  It has truly taken me down roads I'd never thought I'd travel much less enjoy.

And now we have a Free Friday app!!  Talk about whole new worlds!  I mean I do have some, most of which are practical and I do own a couple of games as well...But who knew I would become completely obsessed by the life of a "jelly blob"?

Speaking of, I noticed this weeks app is for Color HD/HD Tablet...Has anyone tried it on a plain old "Color Nook"?  Please let me know, I have a grandson who would think I'm cool if I had this!

Thanks again!

Have a great weekend all!!

Thank you for Dan Brown. It isn't free anymore, but if you bought Driftless a few weeks ago and haven't read it, it is a great piece of writing.

If you were experiencing the 2001 error, this issue should now be resolved so please try downloading again.

Happy Reading!

Thanks for the woderful selection.  I was glad to see Daddy's Little Killer up again.  Not at all what I expected.  Romance, mystery, and personal conflict against a major conspiracy.  This series deserves the attention. I picked up four of her books recently and loved them.  Was thrilled when the 5th book came out free the other day too although she should be charging for her later books.

Thank you everyone for the great books this week. Have a great weekend!

Even when the selection is not one that I personally will enjoy, I still love coming here and seeing what is available and seeing that others are pleased with the selection.

Also, it gives me a chance to try to use my self control and NOT download Free books that I am not particularly interested in... sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.:smileyhappy: Either way, thanks B&N, Jeremy, Ereaderperks, Butterfly13, Lynda and others for your offerings this week.

Also I just downloaded The DaVinci Code and it is still free.  Also someone stated that some other books weren't free.. I went back and checked those as well.. they were still free when I checked, just listed under the paperbook or hardback books... Scroll and Read when checking the listings.. if not you might miss something!

Have a wonderful weekend (first weekend of spring, have plans out of doors, if that falls through I have plenty to read! ) :-)
