"Hard to think of it as a debut, better to think of it as the beginning of a massive new adventure.”

-The Daily Mirror (UK)

Television veteran Simon Toyne’s debut novel is an ambitious conspiracy thriller that Brad Meltzer and Dan Brown fans will devour. The whole world is watching when a cloistered monk in modern day Turkey plunges to his death in front of television cameras. The monk’s act of defiance sets off a frenzy to discover what secrets lie behind the ancient walls, and why he sacrificed his life to put an end to them.

When the monk is identified, American journalist Liv Adamsen is shocked to discover that he’s the brother she’d written off as dead long ago. Her reporter’s instincts send her to investigate the secretive world her brother inhabited, and soon she’s battling a group of deadly monks who will go to any extreme to protect their millennia-old secret.

The second book in Toyne’s critically-acclaimed trilogy, The Key, is available for NOOK now.

Happy Free Book Friday everyone! Thanks to B&N and to all who contribute here. Who would have dreamed you could hold your whole library in one hand?

by butterflly13 on ‎05-17-2013 07:58 AM

Happy Friday to all, I hope the week found you well and this weekend looks full of promise! I have had a very busy week (The week at work after Mother's Day, always is for me) and I am so looking forward to sitting in the sun shade or anywhere in between with a book!

I recomend everyone try one thing you have always wanted to do but never have, learning something new is such fun and the feeling of doing it not just thinking about it is AWESOME!

by TimDarling on ‎05-17-2013 08:00 AM

It looks worth a try. Thanks for another free book. I like the way you mix it up with different genres. Keep up the good work.

The link for the Sherlock Holmes app is coming up with Sanctus instead of the app.  When I did a search for the app, there are 2 listings for it - is there a difference between the two?

Thanks for all the freebies!

Sanctus looks like a great read. Thank you B&N and everyone else who has posted here today. I'm hooked on Dan Brown - the Robert Langdon series now, so just downloaded his new book Inferno. Can't wait to start reading it. Happy Friday!

by myopinionpb on ‎05-17-2013 09:36 AM

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for this book.  I was about to start reading the book.

Now I can read it on the Nook.

So many books, so little time.

And I found some more good freebies, thank you all.

Does B&N take requests for Nook Books?  I want to read "The Mortal Storm" by Bottome.  Downloaded "This Mortal Storm" by mistake. My hands were quicker than my eye.

by mikesmartha on ‎05-17-2013 09:42 AM

Sounds like my kind of book. Thanks to all of you! Have a great weekend. See everyone next Friday! :smileyhappy:
