All of Vee Bell’s friends and family think she has narcolepsy, but what they don’t know is that when they think she’s asleep, she’s actually  sliding into someone else’s identity. Like any teenager, she doesn’t want her odd secret to get out, lest she become a social outcast.

But when Vee slides into the mind of her sister’s friend Sophie right as she’s being murdered, Vee’s formerly harmless gift becomes a burden. The town thinks that Sophie’s death was a suicide, but Vee can’t reveal the truth without also exposing her strange paranormal powers. And who would believe her anyway? Instead, she sets out to find a more terrestrial way to solve the crime before the murderer strikes again.

The story of Vee Bell continues in the riveting sequel to Slide: Imposter.

Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Jill recommends:

Hysteria by Megan Miranda is an edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller with touching, heartfelt moments and a delicious love interest. What a page-turner!

Has anyone else had a problem with a percentage of their books not showing up in their Library?  There was one day in particular, a week or so ago, where none of my freebies loaded.  (The books show up in my online account, but they don't show up in the library on my devices.)

I thought maybe I hit my "mooch" limit (if there is one), but this even happened recently with a book I paid for.  I've tried archiving and unarchiving, to no avail.  What's odd is that it shows up in my library on my NOOK tablet (but does not download to that device), but does not show up in the library on my NOOK HD+ at all.  Weird, huh?

In the meantime, I'm still waiting for a reply from Customer Service ...

BTW, not everything can be free, but if you're not already signed up for a daily e-mail reminder, you should keep an eye out for the Daily Find.  I have run across some *fantastic* bargains there.  Another good low-cost option is the "under 2.99" list.

However, if your funds are low, don't forget about your local library!  Many of them have e-books available, and their website will direct you to where you can download a free app.  (My library system uses Overdrive, which is free in the NOOK Store.)

I'd like to recommend The NOOK Blog:  http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t5/The-NOOK-Blog/bg-p/Unbound

This is a great way to keep up on special sales, highlighted authors or genres, plus you can ALWAYS find the current link to Free Fridays there!

In my previous message, I mentioned the "under 2.99" list (which was also posted in The NOOK Blog):

tinalou57 you can set your alarm on your phone to go off every Friday at a convenient time for you. Or set up to have your calendar email you or notify you at a certain time on Friday. I actually booked marked the nook blog on my nook, computer, and my tablet. It makes it easier to find what your looking for. I hope this helped you.

Coming in a day late, but still in time to take advantage of some great books. I feel repititous saying this, but coming here every Friday is one of my favorite moments out of my week. A chance to let my eyes and imagination wander as I decide on what books I'll pick out to read next. Thank you to BN and everyone for finding some great books and allowing me to escape reality on a regular basis. :smileyhappy:

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead!

A day late as well...sometimes 2-4 days late. I too would like to thank everyone for your contributions in this blog. I probably would never try some of the genres if not for this. A perfect example of the gift in sharing and the excitement in where reading can take you. The FREE Fridays is a wonderful perk to count down your week. Again thank you B&N, and all of you who share in other offerings.

Have a great weekend and meet everyone back here again next Friday..or Saturday.

Thank You:smileyvery-happy:

Hello again, everyone!  Well, as a follow-up to my first message, I found out something interesting earlier today.  I must be the last person to know this, but apparently not every book is available on every device!  (That's why there's a discrepancy between my online library and what loads to my NOOK Tablet or my NOOK HD+.)

I knew this happened with the apps, but didn't realize it also happens (albeit less frequently) with NOOK books, as well.  (I guess some publishers don't update to the newest platform.)

Anyway, if you're ever wondering if a book you're about to buy will work with your older (or newer) device, before you click "BUY NOW", click on the question mark following "Available on NOOK devices and apps" -- it will show you supported devices, as well as supported apps for tablets/phones and PC/MAC.

When it's free it doesn't matter, but if you're plunking down some cash, you might want to know.  (And maybe eventually the file will be updated.)  If you've already spent the money, most books can be read on your PC via "read instantly" (which is the only way I can read the book I bought).

BTW, the best way to reach Customer Service is via Live Chat.  (They did offer to refund my money, but I really wanted the book.)  And hope springs eternal that the publisher will update the file.

Thanks so much everyone.  I have been trying to figure out how to find the free Fridays blog.  I could never find it from BN site.  I have been finding it through Facebook.

Thanks

Slide is coming up @ $9.99 when I click on it and I have a nook classic and it is not showing up on there.  I love free book Friday,  but this is a bit frustrating.

That's because today is Thursday.  The Free Friday entries are generally only good through the weekend. There will be a fesh one tomorrow.  You can check them every Friday at http://bn.com/unbound

To Wonsue, I also had a problem. I went in the store, the customer service rep told me some authors only allow a certain amount of free downloads. So we missed the cutoff.
