Those who enjoyed the complexity and deeply-felt storytelling in The Journey Home will find the same elements in Spinning. This time, Baron introduces Dylan Hunter—a man in the prime of his life who has everything he’s ever wanted. With a successful career, a string of adoring women and a great group of friends, Dylan is living the high life. Thanks to his golden tongue, he’s able to get himself (and his high-paying clients) out of any tight space, with a little ‘spin.’

Then a former girlfriend comes back into his life, with a  3 year-old daughter in-tow. The girl’s not Dylan’s, but he soon finds his priorities realigned when he becomes her sole guardian. Readers will sympathize with Dylan’s desire to hold on to all of the things his old life afforded, but they’ll keep turning the pages to see if he’ll find peace in this new role he never thought he'd be playing.

Once you’ve fallen in love with Baron’s heartfelt storytelling, I’m confident you’ll want to read his newest novel, Leaves, available now for NOOK.

Free Fridays Recommends

Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Michael recommends:

NOOK owners: go to shop and search for “Michael Baron” to download his complex and heartfelt novels today.

to Damurphy: check with ur local B&N store to see if they're still holding Nook introductory lessons.  You'll learn lots of helpful stuff.

In case spec cannot post or is delayed in posting today, here is the link to his most recent update on the Nook book discussion about freebies:

by 1reader on ‎10-05-2012 11:01 AM

If it's free you're looking for, enter 0.00 into the search bar of "SHOP".  (that's searching for for zero dollars & zero cents).   You'll get close to 2 MILLION freebies.  Granted, they are not all full books, and not all worth reading.  You can narrow that down with "0.00 fiction", or some other similar search and read for free for the rest of your life :smileyhappy:

Can anyone tell me where to find the Free Friday offering on Nook Color?  I was a long-time original Nook fan, and recently switched over to Nook Color.  It was easy to find on the old Nook - under "Shop", there was a "view promotion" option.  Can't find it on Nook Color. Thanks!

MargiHem I always wondered that myself. I usually do it on my main computer. I just looked on my color nook. You have to go to web then to  welcome to nook color, click on read blog under nook blog. It took me right to free fridays.  Hope this helps.

Thanks to all that post free books here on friday. My library is constantly growing and i have found some new authors through this. Bless you all!

Hawaii697 - you need to click on "Spinning". The first book by the author, The Journey Home (the one they list first), is not free.

MargiHem:  Assuming it shows up on the Nook Color the same as it does on the Nook Tablet, you can probably go to "Shop" and there should be an option called Picked Just For You.  There should be a banner at the top with about five panels.  One of those panels (maybe the 3rd or 4th one) should be the Free Friday book.  I don't have access to my Nook right now, so I'm going on my memory.  I hope I got all the steps right.  Hope this helps.  If not, some of the other posts today explain how to download as well.

by Reader42AS on ‎10-05-2012 12:13 PM

I find the easiest way to download the free books (or any book for that matter) is just to open my nook, go to "shop" and type in the title of the book you want. You can download it right to the nook without downloading it to the computer first.
