This week’s Free Fridays selection, The Last Secret of the Temple by Paul Sussman, is a fast-paced, globe-trotting thriller.

As soon as you dip into The Last Secret of the Temple, you’ll see why Sussman’s smart, complex storytelling made him an international bestseller. The plot weaves together a centuries-old secret, a World War II-era Nazi plot, and the current strife in the Middle East.

An old man turns up dead at an Egyptian archeological site, and soon Inspector Yusuf Khalifa is pulled into the case. Something valuable—and possibly world-altering—is hidden in this ancient land, and the truth it could reveal would have dire consequences for the politically-fragile Mideast.

Sussman was an archeologist by trade, and offered twists, turns, and fascinating historical detail, all within the pages of this impressive thriller.

Once the excitement of The Last Temple makes you a Paul Sussman fan, another explosive book, the just-published Labyrinth of Osiris, awaits.

Hey all--

I definitely want to say that I so appreciate all of the time and effort that goes into creating the lists of free books.  I sometimes miss a week and find that I have missed a real opportunity to get a book I wanted, BUT...the bottom line is that I have benefited soooooo much from this blog over the years.  To Jeremy and all of the other consistent posters--You have my eternal gratitude.

Thanks Jeremy.  Thanks Spec.  Spec, many of your books are no longer free.  There are so many of them, I wonder if there is something bigger afoot?

I appreciate all your hard work.  I am glad to see you back on this site today.  You were missed.

For those having problems downloading by clicking on the button... try right clicking and opening the link in a new window or tab. That usually works for me :smileyhappy:

Happy reading, and thank you so much to all that contribute!

Haha. I think the biggest problem is that some are not reading all the posts therefore do not have all the information.  Thank you spec and butterfly very much.  If you only put a few freebies I'd be happy but it's so nice to have several genres to choose from! Thanks again, and need to say anything in your defense to the old timers here!   Oregon Sue

Thanks Spec for your suggestions, but it appears that B&N is on to you and the books I'd like to get from your list are no longer  free- of course, I'm checking on Sat., but it used to be they would stay free for at least several days after Friday. Too bad :smileysad:

Sorry, I didn't read all the comments- so saw Spec's revised list too late. Thanks to all who post free books.

spec, please don't apologize! each week you give us a wonderful free book and then a list of several more, all of which is time consuming. as one who survived frankenstorm and the noreaster this week, i know how tough the week has been (that heavens i didn't lose power this year, unlike last year's edebacle). Anyway, thanks to all who gives us their time to research these books and make recommendations. so what if a little snafu happens occasionally. BE GLAD YOUR POWER IS ON! seriously, blessings on all.

Spec...I have to apologize to you.  You came through with an amazing selection of free books.  Thanks much.

Today's Monday and it's no longer free.  Sometime we can't log on on Friday.  I don't think I want to pay nine dollars for this one.

Thank you Haejok, I think I am going to wait, because it will be forever before I can get to it with all the freebies I did download! Appreciate it very much!:catvery-happy:

Something to consider, by posting the free books available, the books popularity increases.  My guess is the system has a number of downloads that it takes before removing from the free category since the book is gaining in popularity.
