Free Fridays

Categories: Free Fridays

In Grace—newly available for NOOK—one of those strong heroines, Grace Ackerly, contends that she’ll never succumb to the social pressures to marry, refusing to become the subservient wife that her era demands. But like any head-strong 20 year old, Grace doesn’t realize that the unpredictability of life sometimes interrupts even the best-laid plans.

In this case, that ‘unpredictability’ has a name and a downright handsome face. Trevor Christian Caldwell is an irresistible charmer who’s set his sights on young Grace, hoping to change her mind about love, marriage, and what a true partnership can really mean.

In today’s Free Fridays selection, a strong-willed woman and a man who is used to getting what he wants are pitted against each other, with passionate and incendiary results.

Free Fridays Recommends

Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Deneane Clark recommends:

NOOK owners: go to shop and search for “Deneane Clark” to download her alluring historical romances.

I'll pass on the romance novel but I do enjoy Free Fridays.  Thanks B&N!

Parents need to monitor their kids. I went over to read the reviews and almost half of them were by underage posters complaining about the selection. This is certainly not a child's book. If you're just giving a kid a Nook, tablet, etc. and then just letting them do anything they want, this is the same as letting him/her loose on the computer with no supervision. Especially as they can access the Internet and easily keep their activities secret from parents.

Just because it's something you can read books on doesn't mean it's not going to be used to access other things!

Just sayin'

How about a nice classic every once in a while? I dont mind trying new authors, but sometime it would be nice to see an author I recognize. I know you gave Dickens to us for free once...

When I saw that the book this Friday was a romance I couldn't wait to see all the complaints. If you do not like the fact that you get free books and it is not to your liking quit looking on Friday's and buy your own books and do not be so cheap that you come to free friday's. Over the past year I have gotten some very good books and ones that have opened me to new genre's. Bottom line, thanks BN for this free program. I have more then paid for my Nook with the free books I have gotten.

There are different books for different people. I am happy to know b&n trys to think of all and give little something for each taste, how bout not complaining and thinking of others. You are not the only nook owner. Too many people only think of them selves.

I look forward to Friday. The weekend is coming, and I'm offered a book for free.It used to show up in "the daily" but now I have to hunt for it.This week I actually thought it was discontinued.

Thank you! I really like the Free Friday books and the variety that has been offered.  It gives me a chance to read books I probably wouldn't try otherwise and I usually enjoy them! I enjoy reading a variety of different types of books.

I just finished reading this book ... Even though it is not my typical reading genre, it was great!!  It is not your typical romance!  I laughed out loud and even shed a tear or two!  Thanks Jeremy for the freebies ... Keep them coming!!  Another reason to love Fridays!  I am able to broaden my reading horizon without breaking the bank!

I don't always like the selection of the week, so I pass on it. I do love the variety of books chosen, and I would like to be a person who helps choose the books. It's always better to be part of the solution, than just to complain about a "perceived" problem. Thanks Barnes & Noble.

Thank you B&N for yet another free book! The titles aren't always to my liking, but who can complain when it's free. A lot of the times I was pleasantly surprised to discover a new author.

maybe people who whine about the free item they can recieve should go pay for what they want...and stop whining...

how pathetic...its *free* if you dont like it...dont take it...where is it written that "take one" is an order and not a suggestion?
