While Chris is adjusting to the aftermath of his divorce, he feels like his teenage daughter Becky is slipping away. When Becky was younger, she and Chris created a majestic fantasy world as a way to cultivate her impressive imagination. But when the queen of this imaginary land, Miea, comes to life right before their eyes, Becky and Chris are excited and a bit perplexed. It seems that the imaginary world they created has developed a life of its own, and Miea is recruiting them to help her uncover an important secret that will keep her beautiful land safe from harm. If you enjoy a dose of genuine human relationships and struggles paired with a fantastical plot, Blue is the perfect read for you.
Free Fridays Recommends
Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Lou Aronica recommends:
John Crowley was one of the first serious novelists I ever worked with as a publisher. This novel is so filled with great sentences that I had several of them printed and mounted on foam-core in my office for years. Reminiscent of One Hundred Years of Solitude but distinctly American, Little, Big is at once magical and very real, fanciful and intensely human. The scope of the story is epic, but at the same time, you can go to virtually any page in the novel and find something to smile about.
[Editor's Note: Little, Big will be available for NOOK on November 8, and is available for pre-order now]
NOOK owners: go to shop and search for “Lou Aronica” to download his books.

Thanks you for all the brilliant freebies every week, Jeremy. And Spec, the fantastic work you put into finding these additional free books is incredible. Thanks bunches. I bought my Nook-Color almost a year ago, to take with me on a trip to Germany to see the town in which I was born. I was figuring on having a couple books loaded onto my Nook for reading during my trip, and saving myself some space in my bag & a sore back. Now, I've got a couple hundred books on my Nook, some I've bought, many freebies, and even a micro-sd card loaded with free classics found other places online. LOVE my Nook. I still love a hard-copy (if you will) book, but my Nook ranks right up top of my things-to-never-leave-home-without. Thanks again!!

The prequel was fine ,but the font on "Blue " was just too small and could not be changed. All in all the Free Fridays are great. Thank you

Regarding the free Friday book for 11/21/11 'Blood Ties'. I thought this book was supposed to be free? It is listed as "free sample" with a price of $5.99. How is that free?
