Free Fridays!

And so are we!

Novik’s re-imagining of the Napoleonic Wars -- complete with dragons and men taking to the skies to battle it out -- is one of the best fantasy series going right now and the books are absolutely ripe for the cinema.

Download His Majesty’s Dragon – the first book in the series – for free for a limited time.

NOOK owners: go to shop, and search “Naomi Novik” for a list of her books and, next month, Naomi will be joining us on Facebook to discuss her work. Stop by!

Almost every Free Friday book is one I've JUST read or downloaded. Are you guys stalking my reading list? :smileyhappy: Thankfully, this one was free last week when I downloaded it. Other times I'll pay for a book just to be annoyed a week or two later when it's offered for free!

My B&N has had Nook At Night sessions.

Paul, I always mention your blog to the people I talk to.

And I mention the Free Friday books. It always brings a smile to their face.

My local Barnes and Noble store set up 2 evening sessions this month called Nook at Night. It is for people who own nooks or people interested in buying nooks. The staff collected questions people had the beginning. Then the  5 or 6 staff members divide up to help us. They start going through the questions (of course we ask more as they are talking). They also demo features of the nook. The extra staff are mingling and watching to help navigate or for problems someone is having keeping up with the discussion. They also break off into smaller groups to work on learning certain features. It has been fun. They are having at least one session next month and are deciding on the frequency depending on the demand.

One interesting thing someone was doing. They buy the eBook and the audio version of that book. They bring up the eBook and read along with the audio version of the book. That brought up more questions on the audio, which I haven't tried yet.
