Free Fridays

Categories: Free Fridays

In Grace—newly available for NOOK—one of those strong heroines, Grace Ackerly, contends that she’ll never succumb to the social pressures to marry, refusing to become the subservient wife that her era demands. But like any head-strong 20 year old, Grace doesn’t realize that the unpredictability of life sometimes interrupts even the best-laid plans.

In this case, that ‘unpredictability’ has a name and a downright handsome face. Trevor Christian Caldwell is an irresistible charmer who’s set his sights on young Grace, hoping to change her mind about love, marriage, and what a true partnership can really mean.

In today’s Free Fridays selection, a strong-willed woman and a man who is used to getting what he wants are pitted against each other, with passionate and incendiary results.

Free Fridays Recommends

Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Deneane Clark recommends:

NOOK owners: go to shop and search for “Deneane Clark” to download her alluring historical romances.

What is the deal with Romance Novels, Good God, can we please have some good reads?

by LynneM44 on ‎07-29-2011 08:34 AM

Ditto on the romance novels...enough already.

The last couple of Free Fridays have not been romance novels. I am not a fan of romances myself, so the other downloads were refreshing. Thank you B&N !

I agree   a GOOD read would be wonderful. Enough romance and vampires

Love Free Fridays but please no more Romance. I remember last year FF gave out a LOT of who-done-its. Why not give away some books by Agatha Christie, Elizabeth George, or since there will be a new Sherlock supposedly coming this fall to PBS and another Sherlock Holmes movie with Downey Junior, why not release a few books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyal? I'd love to get a Hercule Poirot or Ms. Marple novel!

I love the Free Fridays and there hasn't been a romance in quite a while.  To my recollection, the last couple of months have been mystery, drama and informational books.  Thanks B&N for the free books.  Free is good!

Thanks for the free Friday's selection!!!  If you look back over the past month, there have been no romance novels given... the selection is very diverse to say the least.  Everyone needs to understand that B&N is doing a great job and covering the millions of people that have Nooks by offering a link to free books.  I am glad they spotlight books by giving free and discounted books everyday.  Reading is for enjoyment and not everyone will always be happy, enjoy what you have.

I love the Free Fridays, a diversity of books

Quicher bichin. If you don't like the free selection, don't download it. Free Fridays does not mean FREE FOR YOUR PREFERENCES EVERY FRIDAY.  I have not liked some of the choices either, but I certainly didn't bich about it.  Be thankful when something you like DOES come up as a freebee and be sure to say THANK YOU to B&N for it!  If people keep bichin, they have the choice to stop giving them away.  So don't look a gift horse in the mouth!  (misspellings done on purpose)

OK, so another romance novel, not my cup of tea, hope others enjoy it. Thanks, but I'll pass.

Love Free Friday's! I'm sorry that there are always folks who feel they need to complain because the book wasn't what THEY would have selected. It's a big world out here folks, you can't please all of the people all of the time. I am enjoying last week's selection, I will say 'no thanks' to this week's selection and I look forward to next week!
