Lust, jealousy, glamour, ambition, heartbreak: In New York City, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Godbersen’s rich, evocative writing brings flapper-era Gotham to life through the eyes of two small-town girls trying to make their way in the Big Apple. This fun romp follows the young women as they celebrate in speakeasies, strive for stardom, and side-step an occasional scandal. The plucky protagonists would be at home in today’s New York social scene, but the 1920s-period detail makes for a unique and nostalgic adventure.
This bonus free edition of Bright Young Things features an excerpt from the upcoming sequel Beautiful Days and an exclusive piece from the author on “How to dress like a lady.”
Free Fridays Recommends
Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Anna Godbersen recommends:
NOOK owners: go to shop and search for “Anna Godbersen” to download her captivating books.

@momgee:
This is actually pretty common practice with the Free Fridays titles, and I don't see a problem with it.
The point of Free Fridays is to feature interesting free titles, not for B&N to dig into their marketing budget to subsidize our reading habits.
Besides, at least with with Agency publishers, they pretty much have to, by contract, offer the title at the same price to everyone in general, including when they offer it for a free promotion. Sometimes this means the offer goes live before it's announced in this blog. So what?
