Hayder brings panache to the serial killer detective thriller—pitting a haunted, unflappable London detective, Jack Caffery, against a sui generis serial killer known as the Birdman. When five women’s ritualistically-murdered bodies are discovered within steps of each other, Caffery immediately knows that this will be the case of a lifetime. But most disturbing is the fact that no one seems to be looking for the victims—they don’t fit any missing persons reports.
How is the Birdman choosing these nameless victims? And what must Caffery do to put an end to his unprecedented reign of terror?
Free Fridays Recommends
Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too! Here’s what Mo recommends:
NOOK owners: go to shop and search for “Mo Hayder” to download the award-winning author’s books.

The Jack Caffery series is terrific (as are all Mo Hayder's books). I'm delighted that Birdman is a Free Fridays selection, as I hope it will introduce more readers to Hayder's books; my only disappointment is that I have already read the entire series thus far, so no new freebie for me!
