Tina Bender makes her living maligning movie stars, so when she receives a note stating, “If you don't stop writing about me, you're dead", she and a select band of misfits set out to find the author of the dramatic script before Tina’s final credits roll.

We’re offering Scandal Sheet FREE for a limited time and don’t miss the recently released, Perfect Shot, the second book in Halliday’s Hollywood Headlines series.

NOOK owners: go to shop, and search “Gemma Halliday” for a list of her books.

I was just charged $4.79 for this free book.  I must have clicked too fast so I didn't see that it wasn't free until it was too late.  Be careful.

ooohhhhh......this sounds good.  Can't wait.  I didn't have any problems downloading the price was free!  Thanks again....

Blondi1954...did you click on "Perfect Shot" or " Scandal Sheet"??? Scandal Sheet went through as free for me, but not Perfect Shot. They do that a lot "here is the free one, but here are the others from the author", then you click on the wrong one and it is easy enough to buy by accident.

No it said the price was $0.00 when I clicked on it but when the screen came up to acknowledge my purchase, it said $4.79.  I went to 'my account' to see which screen registered and it was the $4.79.  Can you reimburse my account. Thanks!

I was just charged too!  It said free ebook and I clicked on it and it charged me!  It was Scandal Sheet too.

I was also charged $4.79 for the book Scandal Sheet.

It's actually showing $4.79 on the page for the book now.  Do we have a time frame for this to be corrected?  Your post said free for a limited time but I didn't think it would be less than 30 minutes.  ;-)

What page, toby? Send me the link.

I was just charged as well. The price shows up as 0.00 but after you click it it charges you $4.79.

by tobygooch on ‎09-17-2010 08:49 AM

Nevermind.  It is showing correctly now and it went through as free.  Thanks again B&N for the free fridays!

It just charged me 4.79.  How do I get it refunded?  I printed a pdf of the receipt.

by dgmal on ‎09-17-2010 08:54 AM

I had no trouble getting it for free.

I did click on that picture.  It said the price was $0.00.  I clicked on download & got a receipt saying I was charged $4.79.

We are looking into why some people are being charged and some are not.  Of course we will issue refunds for those who have been charged.  Stay tuned and we apologize for this.
