Philippa Gregory is best known for her sweeping historical novels, including the enchanting #1 bestseller, The Other Boleyn Girl. Now Gregory is branching out into young adult fiction, with Changeling, the first book in her Order of Darkness Series. Like her popular adult books, Changeling is set amidst the Middle Ages, and features a young couple bound together by their outsider status, who embark on a historic journey across Europe. It's a perfect book for getting young readers interested in history, and the compelling storytelling will appeal to adult readers as well.
Today, Philippa Gregory offers NOOK Blog readers her thoughts on why the Middle Ages are such an enthralling historical period, and such a rich setting for modern storytellers.

I absolutely enjoy reading about the middle ages, especially in England. I am mesmorized by the speech and mannerisms of this period, especially among Royalty. I hope that one day, Ms. Gregory ventures out into the 15th periods and beyond, maybe up to present day royalty, in fictionalized writing.

my favorite author and middle ages. We always learn so much about our times as we reflect on what happened before.

I just finished THE LADY OF THE RIVERS (Book 3 of The Cousins War). Love Philippa Gregory's books. Great way to read a wonderful story and read history at the same time.
Looking forward to this series also. The Middle Ages are really interesting to read about. There were many strong and brave and resourceful women from that period. In the book I just read, the heroine has 10 children, is a faithful wife, also serves in the Queen's Court. Most people don't realize that the woman of the house ran everything when their husbands were away in some battle or another. They had to learn organization, discipline, managements, etc.
