Thanks BN!

I think I saw that I can actually read a book that I'm currently reading on my Nook.  How do I do that?

Wish there was a better selection of books... getting tired of all the free romance books, especially on Fridays

I'm so happy to hear this news, have been hoping for Nook access online.  Many thanks and keep up the great work!

@LauraLovesToShop

There are a couple ways I've found:

1) Click My Nook at the top of any BN.com webpage, sign in if neccessary, find the book in your library, and click the blue arrow on the book cover.

2) Make sure you are signed in to your BN.com account, search for the Nookbook's product page, and click Read Instantly on the book's cover. If you're not signed in or if it's a book you don't have it will show the sample only.

@lkmiller

Thank you. worked like a charm.

I have another question...

if I'm reading my book online, and close it for the day, will my Nook be sync'd with the last page I read online?

I've tried downloading the books, but I get hung up on the credit card page.  I don't understand why I need to enter my credit card information (which, I'm assuming, will be kept on file with my B&N profile) in order to order free books... :smileyfrustrated:

I'm on a mac with latest version of Safari, and when I click to open a book, I get a page that shows the logo "Nook for Web, by Barnes and Noble" and can't scroll or move from that page.

Thank you so much for the free books! I really like the "Nook for Web" page. The look is very clean and it is very user friendly. I like that by logging in, I can access all the books in my library as well and that the "shop" button takes you to the nook book store without any extra clicks. I use Google Chrome and the page worked very well. Nice to be able to access my library from anywhere. Great job!

Doesn't work.  Signed in.  Navigated to my library.  selected a book i'd purchased.  only shows a sample, not the whole book.

Great idea though.  beats installing a client software version.

UPDATE:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Scratch that.  shut down the browser and restarted.  something cached was preventing it from knowing it was me signed in.  works great.  opens to the page my nook ST was on when i stopped reading....

What you have to do is click the book at the webpage for Nook for Web. Each book is listed on this page. After you click the link, it brings up the "app" for your computer. There is an immediate button in your upper right (Nook $0.00), click this and it brings up a box that asks you to confirm your "purchase".

Hope this helps. :smileyhappy:

The credit card number is how they generate a DRM number for the ebook.  It doesn't matter if the ebook is free or costs something, it must have a DRM and the CC number on file for you is how you get that number.  No CC, no DRM, no ebooks.

Thanks ---  and YAY.... I'm excited about this - but, I have questions:

Does anyone know when the Nook for Web Free Books are Posted - when are they available?

1) Are Nook for Web Books available once a month, only on Fridays ---- when should we begin

    to look each month?

I noticed that it gave a time limit that these 6 Books would be available for Free -

this time, until 7/26 ------which is a great feature to have.

Would appreciate the info.
