@ TriciaM  Its worth asking. Since they have not been opened. Depending on how long ago you purchased they may not have a choice.

@TigerBalk - I think you should reread the paragraph:

"100 reading enhancements, the hottest music services, top comics & graphic novels, plus NOOK Color customers will be able to download Netflix to watch movies & TV shows and Hulu Plus"

I have the original white facia NOOK and this new black NOOK Simple Touch. I just downloaded the latest firmware version 1.1, and was VERY disappointed that the software developers did not include in the upgrade the capability to read in landscape mode (like the new Kindle can). Otherwise a great eBook reader and .pdf file reader which I keep with me at all times, including the gym, my travels, and my motorcycle.

I just recently downloaded the Simple Touch upgrade V1.1.0 and now my Nook will not connect to my WiFi. Phone support was not able to help me after first insisting the correct version was V1.0.1. Now I must take my Nook into the store (25 miles away) and get their help. Very frustrating.

I think you should stick to recommending books instead of pushing the newest ereader.  That should be left for the main page of the B&N website.

I also LOVE my nook color. I agree with the other users that are saying its just technology and though I would love the new tablet, in 6 months there will be a newer faster one. Its just the way it is and I don't think we should complain. At the time I got my nook color I wanted a device that I could read in bed without a light that would disturb my husband. There was no Amazon version of this. I have never regretted my choice. That being said when my device no longer eorks properly I will comparison shop again. I wont expect a rebate or a trade in offer. Ill get the best device for my needs. And so far B&N has been keeping slightly ahead of the competition.

I LOVE my nook! But I really like what I read about the nook tablet. Just wondering if theres going to be any rebates to upgrade?

Here we go with the original Nook whiners complaining they have no updates again. Sell them and buy new ones because you don't get apps on the old ereader okay. Geez.

Any word on whether the prices will also drop on the certified pre-owned models? Since a new ST will be $99, $79 for the refurb suddenly doesn't seem like such a great deal.

Anyone having problems creating new folders under screensavers for .jpg files after the update to 1.1.0?  The only file I see under "screensavers" is a file called ".nomedia."  Otherwise I cannot create a folder anywhere in the directory tree.

Wow a new tablet B&N keep up with kindle. New technology means new hardware which for all of you who compplain about no new updates you hardware wont support anymore upgrades. One day nookcolor will not support the newest technology thats why they made a tablet. We can still upgrade some but not as much as the new tablet. I LOVE MY NOOKCOLOR AND THANK YOU FOR A NEW UPDATE I CANNOT WAIT. But, I wont get a new tablet anytime soon but it does what it said it would and so much more after the update. So my friends go shopping buy the greatest and in 6 mths something new will come out, sorry thats life. My nookcolor did exactly what it said it would do and your original nook did and still does what b&n said it would do! Because at the time it came out it was what it was software you can change but the hardware cant once you get above what the hardware will support, the software will fail.
