Every time Barnes and Noble tries to do something cool somebody bitches.  "I don't like it!" "Why didn't I get a gift card?" "Why did it go on sale after I bought it?

Blah, blah, cry, whine, piss, moan, freaking blah!  If all you haters and whiners ruin it for the rest of us I'm going to be pissed!

Just enjoy all the wonderful things they do, say thank you, or if what they are doing for you does not apply to your reading choices or lifestyle go shop at Amazon!!!!!

HOLY CRAP I have had it!!!!!!!!   They are giving away a free book not crucifying Christ or undermining anybody's lifestyle!!!!!

Hooray!  Thank you Amistead (congrats on the new book), Paul, and HarperCollins! :smileyhappy:

izzyt84 Had you been "respectfuly" declining, you would have just not downloaded the book.  There was nothing respectful about that.

Thanks Paul! I love Amistad Maupin. His books are greatly entertaining. I have all of them.  His characters come alive! This is a great opportunity for anyone not familiar with his work to read something.  I just recently bought the DTB of this and am thrilled to have the e-book.

Whoops! I downloaded before reading the book review. A character is one thing, sordid details are another. I'd better make sure I read the synopsis beforehand from now on! Some sort of classification would be nice.

I'll take a look, and if I don't care for it, I'll remove it.

Thanks to the author and B&N for their generosity. Some books are my bag, and some aren't, but I really appreciate the offer!

I downloaded a few hours ago and have read the first 40 or so pages. What a delight to be reunited with these old friends.

I've never read Maupin.  I don't know if I'll enjoy it.  However, as long as it's not another angst-filled, teenage vampire/undead/ghoul from another plane of existence romance (LOL!) I'll certainly give a feee book a try!

Good marketing BTW BN! I somehow never read Lee Child until I downloaded "One Shot" as a free book.  I've since gone back and purchased #1, and will work my way through the series.

Thanks Paul and Barnes & Noble. Just downloaded the free Maupin.
