In his high-concept novel Parallax—available now for $2.99—Merz pits two skilled assassins against each other in a unique cat-and-mouse game. When a German terrorist and a Mafia hitman both happen to commit separate murders at the exact same time, the men become psychically-linked, allowing each a portal into the other’s thoughts. When the hitman realizes that his German counterpart is headed for the States in order to kill a valuable U.S. scientist, he sets out to use his deadly skills to stop the plot. The stakes grow higher as the two killers match wits and prepare for an explosive showdown.

Even though it comes in at just under 600 pages, this book is a quick read. Mr. Merz's writing style and the original concept quickly drew me in. I felt like I was the one looking over the characters' shoulders watching the story play out.

Thanks Ellen - so glad you enjoyed Parallax!  You might also like my Lawson Vampire series (and I assure you, it's nothing like any vampire series you've read before - very little woe-is-me I have to suck blood, and much more supernatural James Bond awesomeness!)
