This dark and complex novel is a blend of Dickens, Austen and Rowling—a story of 19th century England, set amidst the backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars. The plot follows a reclusive magician, Norrell, who comes out of hiding to prove once-and-for-all that real magic does exist. Intent on preserving his art for future generations, the aging magician soon takes an apprentice—Jonathan Strange—under his wing.

But when a rift occurs, the great magician and his capable protégé turn against one another in a fierce battle for supremacy. This sizable page-turner will capture your attention from start to finish.

Looks like the book is now $16. You must have caught it at just the right time.

Really limited time. Just checked it out and it shows as $16. I'll pass.

Oh, I just checked Amazon and they still have the book for $2.99. Maybe it's an error on B&N site. In any case, $2.99 or $16. Which one do you think I'll purchase?

It sounded good but not at $16

it says 2.99 but it's 16. Why

How long was it available for $2.99? It sounds good and I would have tried  it at that price. Now I'll look for it at the library.

What happened?  Don't advertise a book for $2.99 and then ask for $16.00.  That's just plain uncool.

Bitchin.  Inflation must be rising faster than first thought.

Still available for $2.99 at Sony Reader store which is Nook compatible.

Just a suggestion, if it's a one day only offer, please put that in the text.
