We’re coming up on a big week for nook, and wanted to share some important information with you today.
First, we’re excited to report that all Barnes & Noble stores will have nook demo units available beginning on Monday. Our customers have told us how eager they are to experience nook for themselves, and we are happy to make it easier for them to do so.
We have also decided that based on the high volume of pre-orders, we will not have for-sale inventory in our stores until after the holidays. We will provide details as the dates become more clear.
The best way to secure a nook of your own is to order online or to place an order at your local Barnes & Noble store. Orders received after 10 a.m. ET today are expected to ship on or about Jan. 15. Orders received after 4:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 11 are expected to ship on or about Feb. 1. (Message updated Dec. 11.)
As a reminder, the first customer deliveries of nook will arrive the middle of next week. We are excited about this, and we can’t wait to hear your feedback on the world’s most advanced eBook reader.

I'm still waiting for my Nook--it was suppose to ship 12-11-09. I received no notice that it wouldn't ship then. I happened to check my order status--it then said it woyuld ship 12-21-09. I made a phone call, and was assured by "Barbara" that I would have it in my hnads on 12-18-09. I just checked my order status and it it tells me it is unavailable. This order was placed on 11-9-09. It just seems interesting that I hear Ellen Degeneres is giving them away on her show. Ist it the real product, or just a ticket to receive one? I hope itit just a ticket to receive one---after everyone who has ordered one in advance gets theirs. I'm really thinking I should've gone with a Kindle. This is getting ridiculous.

I ordered my Nook on Nov. 5, 2009 and was told it would be shipped 12/11/09 that same date I got a email stating it will be delayed and new ship date 12/18/08.... well on 12/12/09 I got a email saying it was getting ready to be shipped and recieved it Dec. 15th.... this is a Christmas present for me so my I can't open it until then :-(. I hope everyone gets there Nook real soon! :-)

I wonder at what point will everyone have there Nook, since i ordert dez.11, shipping date wont be till Jan. 15,2010. Ugh! My friend orderone as well,it wont get shipped till Feb.2....., now i'm wondering if the nook has some glitches they need to fix and thats why ther holding back..
Im really considering getting the Kindel2....I will keep an eye on these blogs to see if anyone claims they got there nook. this will be interestingt....Im just glad that i can still cancel my pre-order right up untill it get shipped out....Why even say, " nook is shipping soon"?!

I have wanted a Kindle ever since I saw my sister-in-law with her last Christmas. I placed an order for the Nook when the product was introduced back the first of November to ensure delivery by Christmas. Now my order status has changed several times and currently is January 18. What is the problem? Needless to say, I am upset b/c my Nook will not be under the Christmas tree this year. Is Barnes & Nobles so confident in their customer base that they do not care about their customers?
