We are, especially today, as Ellen DeGeneres features nook in the popular 12 Days of Giveaways segment on her hit TV show.
"Today is all about hot gadgets," Ellen says in introducing Day 1 of the Giveaways (check your local listings).
"Barnes & Noble has one of the hottest gifts of the season. This lightweight nook is an eBook reader that can carry up to 1,500 books ... You can download newspapers and magazines. Now, it's not even in stores yet, but thanks to Barnes & Noble, you're all getting $300 gift cards to order it."
Everyone in Ellen's audience got a Barnes & Noble gift card good and some other great gadgets, too. Home viewers can enter to win from her website, ellentv.com.
If you missed the segement -- or (like us) if you just want to see it again -- here's the video on Ellen's site.
And let us say this out loud: Thanks, Ellen!

Ellen and her entire audience gets a nook, but you can't ship the nooks to the people who have paid for them? We were promised to be the first people to receive them....I am now seriously considering canceling my order and buying a kindle.

My guess is that the nook she's holding and the onse on the table are all non-working displays notice that they are all showing the exact same thing.
I do find it totally hilarious that she held it upside down the entire time.

MacGuyver...exactly what I was going to say about the Nooks Ellen was holding!
I hate seeing B&N getting grief over the availability of the Nook versus "promised" dates. Almost any new item (especially tech gadgets) never arrives when it is promised because there are just too many darn things that can go wrong (remember Murphy?)! At this point, I am more concerned with whether the Nook lives up to all the hype and the features are as good as described. If i have to wait a few more weeks (since I haven't ordered yet!) then I will just have a better opportunity to find out what everyone who does get theirs thinks! ![]()

Wow, I'm really shocked at those complaining about getting a free NOOK! So what if it will be delivered late? You are fortunate enough to not have to pay for it! Gee, some people feel very entitled. I would be happy to wait and take that gift card off your ungrateful hands...

Amberific,
Those complaints are not coming from people who got certificates for free nooks; they come from people who ordered nooks and have not received them yet.

Arggg...
I guarentee Ellen didn't order her nook on October 20th Like I did.
So why does she have one and I don't?
They promised they would ship beginning this week.
Its Friday. Weeks up. No shipping!
Nobody but Ellen has a nook, and she didn't have to pay for hers.!!!
